Just had to clean up the wires...now I'm looking for a larger r/x box to hold the BEC also.
http://i417.photobucket.com/albums/p...y/DSC01238.jpg Carriers have been shipped!! Ordering Acer's tomorrow, hopefully they will accomodate the tekno's 8mm stub axle like they do for the trutracks... |
FYI....Dan at Acer was quick to reply to my request to sub out the stock carrier bearings for the 8x15x5's that the Teknos need, that's awesome. I just hope they both show up around the same time...
...And sadly my 4 4s's are on backorder, anyone know how long the wait is generally for HobbyCity's backorders???? |

Hope your wait will be a short one. |
Damb...that does suck. I'll keep my fingers crossed. The worst part is when I placed my order, they were in stock, but when I got the confirmation, it was backorder. Oh well, as long as they show up before the snow flies...I might only have a couple of months left...

You may try it and have no problems, but if you do, that would be the first thing to change. Welcome to ze Monster also.... |
Thanks Redshift, and everyone else, it is much appreciated!!
And I have heard that the BEC should stay away from the R/X, and was thinking about making a separate, rubber insulated compartment, if that would make a difference. I honestly don't know enough about the electical field that the BEC gives off to know if it would work, but also it is working fine as is.... |
Rubber is 100% ineffective, but sure a dedicated compartment would be very clean.
If you want another option, many members will suggest ditching the 2 steering servo setup (they tend to fight each other) for a single hi torque, and if you did that would be another spot for the BEC. |
Lol, umm I hate to be captain obvious but take a closer look at the servo hole on the right side of the above pic...DOH!
FYI My BEC has clear rap because the stock wires were removed and larger guage installed, and it is wired into a y harness to have a bit of a cleaner look |
Why didn't you think of that before.....
Wow dumbass moment- looked just like a servo at a glance  Carry on! :mdr: |
Hey Kevlar, yellow leaves in Alberta in the begining of august:lol:
OMG, i love Quebec:whistle: beautifull truck, i like it:yes: |
Just barely, but they are! It was only +2 the other morning....not good. All I can hope for is no snow until the end of october, but expecting it for the start....
The pic to you left was only taken a few weeks ago... |
May i ask you what type of rods did you use for the front sway bar?
You used the rustler ones? |
I believe they were rustlers, but I didn't really pay attention when I bought them, I just took one of my teknos in, sized it up and grabbed it off the shelf. Other than a little adjustment the ends fit the tekno balls, everything worked great together.
Still no mail yet....this is the first time I've ordered off the net, the wait is terrible!!!! But it will be like christmas morning when parts do start showing up.... |
what servo is that?
it looks like an ACE 1015...and if you don't have a 1015.....get one LOL very nice build!!, the curly heat sink sets it apart :mdr: i'll be interested to see how long that paint stays on the RPM arms...since they flex you'd reckon the paint would fleck off or get ground off from various obsticals. |
That beast of a servo is the JR 8711:
http://www.amainhobbies.com/product_...-Digital-Servo I love the look of the plettenberg, don't think the heat sinks are as functional as fins, but the built in fan helps I'm sure! As far as the arms go PAINT???? LOL They are dyed, but I cannot take credit for that, as I bought them that way. Now I want blue arms, to match the pletty but I am torn between the nice look of all blue arms and the extended wheeelbase Traxxas rears/black RPM fronts. Any thoughts gents?? |
