I know this will probably be an unpopular opinion, but I can't really blame the skateboarders for being upset sometimes. I'm sure there are times where they can be overly aggressive or rude, but turn the situation around for a second:

You're at your favorite track for a nice day of bashing/racing and then some guys on BMX bikes (skateboards obviously won't work in this analogy per the dirt/clay) show up and start running on the track. You can't really run like you want to for fear of getting your car run over or getting in a crash and hurting someone. And you say to yourself "Why do these guys have to come here and get in my way? There are tracks specifically made for riding BMX bikes!" I think it's safe to say many people would get annoyed if not mad. Yes, it's an unlikely scenario, but you get the point.

I don't have anything against running at skateparks or people who do. I think it would be awesome. But I do see why the skateboarders might get a little upset in certain situations, that's all.

i agree, but the skaters are all high schoool punks getting high anyways, in my local public BMX rack that is. I never run when there are people there, only when they are on brakes. and i ask...and most of the times they just start cursing and just being dbags.

At the park i usually go to, i have problems with moms from 3 soccer fields away coming to tell me to leave because its too dangerous for her 5 year old son who is on the playground 3-4 soccer field lengths away...dam shame

one main difference. bmx bikes would trash up the rc track designed for ~10lb cars, while the skatepark would not be harmed by a ~10lb car, compared to, say a 200lb skater. and I don't think the skaters are pissed for "the safety, seeing as a bunch that I see dont even wear helmets. :lol: If they do, then they're nice and safe from falling R/C cars so they got nothin to worry about!"

but then again, who is to say they own the park? You are not doing anything illegal. just be smart and keep your distance. from em. if they're on the half pipe, stick to the funboxes etc. If they still make a big deal, well my friend... that could be classified as harassment.

For all you skaters and bikers out there. this is exactly what not to do... biking or skating without a helmet...

All I'm saying is that the people using the venue for its intended purposes deserve the right of way. I would expect it when I'm at an RC track, and it's not unreasonable for skateboarders to expect it at a skatepark. If you want to go drive an RC at a skatepark just be respectful, give the skaters the right of way, and use common sense, 9 times out of 10 it will be all good.

To sum that statement up in terms of the video: If it's an RC track it's the girls own fault she got hit, shouldn't have been riding her bike on it. If it's a BMX track it's the drivers fault she got hit, shouldn't have been running an RC on it when bikers are riding.

I agree with you on the right of way, but this is just where you gotta use your brain.

Common sense (I know its hard to come by) will dictate that if you see an r/c goin off jumps or something, and the driver is minding his own buisness, not interrupting anybody, dont expect to go over to where he is just because of your "right of way." things like that will end up with some girl getting hit in the face by an r/c. followed by keyboard cat

Well there is one big point being missed to the whole RCs on skatepark vs. skaters/bikers on rc track. From what I'm reading many of these skate parks in question are public parks, open to the public ie. payed for with your tax money and most RC tracks are owned by hobby shope or private individuals and therefor are for general public use. Yes I would still stay away from the skaters and bikers but it's still a public park and if they aren't on a jump there should be no problem hitting it with a RC.

As far as getting hit with a truggy at 40MPH goes......IT HURTS LIKE HELL!!!!!!! At the bash almost 2 weeks ago I got hit in the right ankle at the end of the straight away. My ankle is still slightly swollen and black and blue. I still gotta ask Finnster how much his Hyper weights in and how fast he's geared for but I'm guessing 11Lbs + 38-40MPH which = HURT!!!

After a few drinkies we did speed runs one night & a friend who should have been wearing his glasses chanced his luck walking accross the road...he's lucky he still has 2 ankles that work, a FLM Rusty took his legs clean out from under him & left him badly bruised through safety boots
