I've never owned a pair of red sox.

I've been reading some more about these motor's. In Germany some rc-boaters have been using them and are reporting they are 0.5-3% less efficient as comparable lehner motors and that they weigh less than the lehners .
There isn't much yet on the web about these motors, but the few reports are positive. I don't think google translate can handle this: Quote:

Google translate worked great:
Tenshock 2220 / 8 vs. LMT 1930 / 6 Both engines cover virtually the same speed and power range and can be easily directly compare. Here the values MY TWO COPIES. LMT: (255g, 2-Pole) Ri: 5.1 mOhm Io: 3.7 A (8V) Load speed: approx 3450rpm / V at 50A TS: (170g, 6-pole) Ri: 5.1 mOhm Io: 3.9 A (8V) Load speed: approx 3400-3425rpm / V at 50A For the load measurements, the LMT is 1% at full load and part load eta 2% more, this is the well-TS 1 / 3 lighter and has a lighter with less rotor inertia. The boat is probably the low efficiency to compensate for disadvantage. And ... the TS costs only half of a 1930 HiAmp. |
Hmm, so even with less mass of the the TS motor, it is still performing almost as good as the Lehner.
|
Yeah, these are sounding very nice. drkdgglr: do you have a link to the european stores that carry these motors?

I suppose having a lower rotating mass that produces the same torque is better . This usually translate to better efficiency.

Tenshock is an RC boat manufacturer, it's original Chinese name "腾翔" pronouces pretty close to its English name but means"to take off and fly free". Usually boat makers manufacture only hulls, but Tenshock seems to make everything on their own. Not bad we now have more to choose from, no doubt you guys will see more and more China made motors to come, may not be as stupidly cheap as previous ones but def more worthy to every cent to spent.
|
because a 6-pole motor has more torque than a 4-pole, will a 6-pole motor draw less amp's than an equivalent 4-pole motor?
|
the 2740 motor isn't a 6 pole as stated in the catalog, but it's a 8-pole 45x60 motor...
