The buggys are super durable, but lack ground clearance and the little tires only can do so much when off roading/bashing. But with a Truggy you'd have the simplistic layout of the buggy and be able to incorperate much larger MT sized tires. The diffs on any truggy are going to be BL ready with out any mods unlike some MT's.
If you decide on a MT a LST2 or even a Losi Muggy is a fine candidate. Rollers can easily be scored cheap via Ebay as well as any roller Truggy. I couldn't pick between a MT or a Truggy,they each have their own apeal. Thats why I have 2 MT's and 2 Truggys and 2 Revos:yipi: |

My next suggestion would be LST2 over a Revo, I have both and with the exception of running them on a track together the LST2 reigns supreme. I am also pretty sure though that with some suspension tweaks the LST2 could handle the revo just fine on the track as well. Never had a savage myself but from what I hear I think the handling issue would irritate me, other than that they seem to be stout trucks. |
Flux, Truggy, or LST2.....
I'd like to figure out how to give my 8T more lift - Brian, did you do a thread on yours? One option is to see if you can find front and rear diff/arm assy's off an RC8T on Ebay, and buy mikes chassis for it. I'd guess that would put you somewhere between 275 and 350 without electronics if you can get a deal on the front and rears. In my own experience, the Flux is 100 times more durable than any 10th scale I've had, and the jury is still out on the Truggy, as I havent had enough time to run mine to get a good opinion. I can tell you that they dont have the jaw dropping wheely producing drivetrain that the MT's do, and at first I was a littel concerned about it, but after a couple times running the truggy, it is fast, just in a much smoother manner. |
