Thats a nice truck .

I will probably go to 6s lipo eventually. Depends if the quark gives out on 5s. If it does then hopefully the ICE hv 160 will be out by then.
So it's settled, I'll get the tdr mount and colleted adapter, 63 spur and a variety of pinions. I had an idea these things were popular. Thanks guys. |
ahh the e-lst, it's kind of like a rcm rite of passage! Here's mine, another big ups on the dude mount. I cheaped out and just jbwelded instead of buying the single speed, I'll get around to it one day. mmm, dusa 36/70/1600, run it on 5s, tons of power, stays cool, just needs to be a tad faster, I'll get a 26 or 27t pinion one of these days.

THe Dude motor mount for life. I use a Neu 1521 1600 KV with 23/66 (not in the photo) at 6S.

Everyone seems to have roughly the same setup. That's reassuring for me
Although I hav seen some running 4s and I think that might be pushing the limits. I thought the idea of this conversion is to make it as fun as possible with out the worry of breaking as much, electronics included. |

I've ben running 4s in both my ELST's for several years with zero issues ? 4s is definitely enough voltage, I still break a diff or axle now and again and runs nice and cool. |

I don't know how hot it gets where you are Bondo but I live Oz and will expect 40C / 100F in the comming summer. So I would like to keep the volts up and amps/heat down.

Here is my new LST2 conversion.....

Nice truck jzemaxx. Are you using the stock drive shafts from the gearbox? Is the gearbox from 3905? I like how it removes the spur and slipper from hanging over the side. It doesn't look like it would be to difficult to do either.
Good one  |
My main issue with ditching the stock lst tranny for the 3905 unit is that you then introduce torque twist from the motor perpendicular to the tire axis. Maybe a minor concern but i like how the chassis does not lean under hard acceleration and braking. Plus i think the lst tranny is stronger than the emaxx. I do not like the long input shaft end that sticks out when using the tdr hub and spacer, so I plan to thread the shaft and find a larger thrust bearing so I can eliminate 1" or so of it. I also plan to modify the gear cover to fit back on as well. That is my only issue with the driveline on the lst, the rest is great!
