With the std savage width setup and some low offset wheels the 5t body fits quite nicely.

I would actually like to see some pics of this set-up with the baja body. I personally hate the way that the baja 5t body sits the stock baja 5t. The wheels stick out to far for my liking.

What would be the most ideal motor for this set-up??

best motor would either be the 1520 or the 1717 as long as you don't weigh the truck down too much or gear for >50mph. the 1717 would have less trouble with it and could be geared higher, but the 1520 should be plenty as well.

I wątched the videos a few times that are avail for the 5t and I have to say I'm not too impressed with the way it handles with that much extra length. It loses all nibleness and suspension does not have enough travel. IMO I think the xl length and width is a very nice balance for a all around balanced rig. Of couse this is only from viewing vids and purely speculation.

my savage came with extended plates and i didn't like how it handled. i converted it back to standard length and i like it much better now. but, then again, i like the shorter wheelbase because a shorter wheelbase makes backflips easier. backflips are easily my favorite rc stunt, whether there is a jump involved or not:party:

Aren't there any steering mods that can be done to improve turning radius?

I found a little info here.

Depending on tire weight and top speed I have a feeling the flux motor on 6s geared for 40 should work. The 5t body is not that heavy, but I can imagine that some extra body mounts and side bracing would be required to help the body last. I will take some pics of the 5t body over a savvy today.

Here is a pic from mine I put together last Friday. I found the Savage 5T 24mm hex hubs for it on EBAY. Hope it loaded. One of the urls for the forums is mine (RCU).

Is this the lowest possible point for the body to sit? And how did you convince the ebay seller to ship to the US?

I'd use a 5T body on this (along with your stock 5T wheels), but would it look scale enough? The one on HBF has the body jacked too high and it's too wide for the body. Is yours the same width front and rear? Stock 5T body is about 16 inches wide. How does it jump? (any bottoming out, is the suspension sagging?)

Can you measure the ground clearance? Looks nice and high with that tires. Also get your camera fixed.

I got a venom cam but everyday the weather is not good. I got lucky last
Saturday and I put things together quickly to run it. The camera is new and I did not know how to use it right. I did not have to convince the seller at all. I saw the item on EBAY Australia and they shipped it in 12 days. I was really relieved to see it in the mail. The suspension does not sag but it does not jump that well but where I jumped it was not the best spot. When the snow and ice clears again I will try it again.
