Don't know to be honest, they came with the tekno losi 8ight, and they looked nicer than my lexan ones that were on the pro roller. I'll get back to you on it once I run the buggy on the track.

The new motor plates came in today.. What a waste of time and money. They move the motor forward all of 2mm, and they mount with this countersunk screws that get wedged b/t the motor plates and the main chassis. Now i need to grind away at the chassis or adjusting mesh becomes the biggest hassle of life. No way to run regular pinions or ont he 2nd gear part of the rc-monster gear adapter with the tekno setup, So I may transfer the 2650 over to the race roller to try out the 29/44 gearing. This should yield 112mph.

You have to raise the centerdiff a little even for a 43 tooth spur. I just dremelled the chassis of mine in order to get the 46t to fit w/o raising the diff.

Hit 98mph on the first pass, 97mph on video:

My temps are well within a safe range (160 on the motor, <135 on esc, 98 on lipo) Ordered a 43tooth spur so I'll try 29/43 to try and hit 110+

Cool vid. Not too sure about what amp draw makes a difference but I was just wondering why you settled with the 4000mah when they have 5000mah 40c 6s available from HobbyCity. 200 amps constant vs. 120 IDK. Might as well give it her all.

That's crazy man,but very cool.

Easy, they are the largest 6s packs i could fit. I bought a new body that may have some more headroom, allowing for the 4000mah 40c packs though.
Higher C rating= less voltage drop= more speeeeeeeeeeed

awsome job!

for whatever it's worth, it really helped me to adjust the throttle curve to a more agressive acceleration.

also, i meant to ask you, where did you get a steel 29T pinion?

DCastaneda 12.23.2009 02:07 PM

The 2pseed adapter with 2nd speed 29tooth gear from the RC-Monster store.

100mph, same gearing as before only changed the body to a proline slipstream 2.0 . Sorry for the crappy quality and cursing. Enjoy :)

Thats awsome, you make it look so effortless. I have a hell of a time just running straight. How do you speed demons set up the suspension?

Jeff

Mine is setup like so:
Front:
80wt oil
10k diff oil but am going to try something stiffer
Green springs
droop at arms level
black sway bar
just a very slight amount of toe out to eliminate turn-in (makes it less touchy at high speed)

Rear:
80wt oil
light diff oil (1-3k is fine)
Purple springs
droop at a little past arms level
silver sway bar
standard 3degrees toe in

Center diff J-B Welded together.

Now for some pics of the new look, dubbed Miami Vice :intello:

nice job on 100. isn't that buggy amazing? i was too much of a pu$$y to JB weld my diff. i used playdough in case i deceided to go play in the dirt.

is that an ofna high flow wing? they work great. i just finished another 8ight yesterday. i'm kinda shelving the tekno build right now because you said you didn't care for the new mounts. i gotta figure out a way to get a high torque mini servo on the stock chassis if i wanna use manual brakes with the phoenix on 8S.

cool looking lid btw. Crocket would be proud.

DCastaneda 12.24.2009 01:03 PM

I'm going to give mechanical brakes a shot this coming week, just don't want to incinerate brake disks.

I have some composite ones that should do the trick though ;)

Wing is a stock losi cut down

Man you guys should plan on attend the 2010 ISC challenge. These buggies would easily kill the current Open Wheel class. The current speed is 81.75mph, set by a current member here and his Emaxx. The buggies will qualify in this class since they run buggy bodies and the wheels are exposed. It sure would be cool to see a couple buggies duking it out for top speed honors...
