Nothing against the 1717 but it is not enough motor. I have one in my lst. Good for a heavy/big MT but not enough for 1/5 scale.
I would say a 1527 would be the best bet, save for going to the 22 series neu. I doubt that 580 is any more capable than a 1521 plus it is less effecient. My 5th scale savage build will use a 1527 2y on 10s lipo. But that truck will be quite a bit lighter than a baja 5t. The chassis has to be heavy to deal with the bif gas motor, that bugger is heavy. I had planned to run a pair of 1521 motors in my 5b, but sold it as I just do not like 2wd.

A 1521 is a good motor. Moves my muggy around great! I have my doubts about the feigao motors, maybe good for 30k max rpms and water cooling. I do not think the magnet assys can handle higher rpms. I still like the kb45 motors better, and they are cheaper. |
