Castle is supposedly working on a 13 series motor specifically for setups like you need, I hope they do some in lower kv like 2800 and lower. Too bad you can't find lehner xxl basic's anywhere but Fine design rc, I like my 1200 and want a 2400 or 2800 for 2s applications

OK, got the motor in yesterday, installed it, and it runs fine. However, none of the 32p 1/8" bore pinions I have fit onto the VXL shaft, but they fit fine on the CC motor. Is this normal for the VXL motor? I believe the pinions I have are RobinsonRacing (from my LHS).

I've ran Mike's bore reducers on my VXL no probs.

If you have some, try a bit of 320 or 500 grit sandpaper on the motor shaft. There may be just a tiny sticking point on either shaft or pinion bore. I've had to do that with a couple of CC motors before.

I don't have that fine sandpaper, but I used some steel wool. I made sure to cover all openings of course. Took a bit, but works now. There were no high spots; seemed like the whole shaft was just a hair larger in diameter. I should have measured the shafts of the VXL and CC4600 before this, but oh well.
