Hey I have a Weller (wp40p) and can't find tips for it anywhere. Can someone give me a link??
Thanks |
I also have a Weller and cant find any tips for it. Since Mike recommended the Hakko and with Papa and Hotncold's testimonies, I dont see any reason why we should not get one. Starting today, I'll save some money and ask Mike to send me one. No more 5-7 dollars irons. That's for sure.

I ordered from here to get free shipping and just bought a few different tips, knife etc and a spare sponge to make it up to the $100...
http://www.hmcelectronics.com/cgi-bi...FQNHFQodwibYWw I think Amain has a $10 coupon on for $100... So it is a toss up of free shipping vs wrap kit - I'm more of a function over form chap... PS I think the HMC is the 12 vs the amain the 8 |
I had a bunch or AMain dollars getting ready to expire, so I splurged and got one - the blue flames. Extra tips too. I also bought Hakko's heat gun - wife's tired of me constantly borrowing hers. Haven't used either yet - we had a hurricane and its been kinda distracting!

I bought one, I have to buy locally so I get a 240v one but they haven't charged me yet so I don't know what's happening. I really want it so I can solder up those new ec5 plugs to my monster max when it comes (should be here soon as it was shipped almost 2 weeks ago) and I have a sidewinder the will need to be soldered up too but I bet the hakko is going to be the last thing to turn up.
Has anyone tried both the medium and large iron. How much difference is there between the two? I couldn't find anyone selling the 936 here with the large iron and the large iron by itself costs as much as the whole kit. |
Done.
Thanks guys for the help. After reading through this thread and knowing that I needed a good soldering station I used the links provided by you and bought the one with the red flame kit. I also purchased the off road wheel balancing kit so I can begin balancing my new Axial beadlock wheels and Mulcher tires. It is nice to have so much help in finding the things that we need right here on RCM:yipi::yes:. More money spent......
