Is it cold where the OP lives/ snowing etc?

I like stunt driving and POWER!

I've had several setups put together for the E Revo that seemed to break a plastic axle every other run.

The plastic axles ARE the weak point. My Truck always has the slipper really tight. That's the way I like it.

I don't use a slipper, I use tires. LOL

Over the past two years, this E Revo has seen many motor setups including some REAL power houses.

After breaking 4 plastic axles and a diff, the traxxas cvd's were installed, along with new diffs. No problem since!

The plastic center drives were replaced with new plastic center drives because the holes were getting stretched out.

Traxxas CVD's are a good step in bullet proofing your drivetrain.

Its not an issue anymore, i found out what the problem was. It turns out I had a traxxas product and I was driving it like it was an HPI product (i should have known better). So I bought a Savage Flux and I havent had any problems since. I must have fixed it!

I guess I must have hit a nerve, sorry lol. But the new fat chick hasnt broken anything yet, I would have broken the "super model" at least 3 or 4 more times by now :na:

best quote ever
i'm also looking to change up from revo platform, not because of weakness but because of landing large jumps, it comes down real hard compared to, say, an LST.
hehe....wonder if you can get a savage flux to handle!?

It handles just like i remember a savage handling.....decent. Not great but just decent. I dont care that much about handling, I just like the fact that the Flux can actually handle the power it came with STOCK and then some.

true true.
too bad the destructions are a shortcut to getting a noob into an ESC failure
"can take more NIMH batteries than will even fit in the savage"...common HPI...WTF!! (traxxas too... :whip:)
to see what i mean, just look at the HPI or traxxas forums...noobs burn up a monster then blame it on castle because they were using 2x 6 cell 1600mah venom nimh batts :sarcastic:

Hmmmm - I was actually going to suggest just that, but held off 'cause I didn't want to ruffle the feathers here.

In the last year, I've just about cleared out my pile of spare Traxxas-Fix Or Repair Daily-Cant have enough spares-gotta run to the LHS stuff. Feels kinda good to go out and beat the living daylights out of your truck, and go home with your rig intact.

That ain't gonna happen.....You can put better tires on it, lower it, and length the chassis, but then you have something that kinda hanldles, but has zero personality!

If you want handling AND reliability, get a truggy and convert it. You save a ton of money just in the first year.

josh9mille 03.20.2010 06:16 PM

honestly now that i have a few more hours runtime on the flux i am not complaining about the handling at all. It jumps a lot better than the revo did, and it doesnt do the gay "three wheel" around corners. Plus it doesnt break just by looking at it. I guess i just cant say that enough lol

JThiessen 03.20.2010 07:11 PM

I see that you also have an LST. What are your thoughts on the difference between the Flux and the LST?

FLux jumping better than a revo :lol:? It's all about the driver :yes:.
