look no further:
http://hobbycity.com/hobbyking/store..._10kg_/_.16sec i have a few of these and they are great. i went through a couple servos in my crt truggy until i put one of those in it. they may not be the fastest or strongest, but they are rock solid and have more power and similar speed as the stock e-revo servos. |
When I had my emaxx 3905 I stripped a few stock servo gears and went with dual mg995's, never had a problem after that. The link to ebay wasn't cheap either, I got 4 delivered for AU$30.
Now I use a hitec 7955 in the rc8t and I really like and prefer the single servo setup, it's much less hassle. |
I had been happy with the Traxxas dual servo setup until I put a 7955 in my Truggy. What a difference!!! Tower also sells a rebadged 7955 for about $85 I think

You could always try the Turnigy HV767. It's Turnigy's run at the high-end servo market. So far I have been very impressed with mine. Although that Hitec for $85 looks pretty darn good too, and you'll have the benefit of US service and support.

+1 for 7955tg great servo 100 bucks cant go wrong im happy and mine was nearly 200 (rip off lhs)

Wow, the Hitec 5990tg is a robot servo that rotates 180 degrees rather than 75. You would have to really watch your end point settings huh?

Wow, you know what's cool about that site?? Is that I went to high school with the guy that helps run that company! They are only like 90min from my house. I plan on going up there this summer to check out their track. I've never driven on a track, and I'd love to try it. I've heard that it's not easy at first. Not as easy as you'd think it would be. thanks for the heads up on that price! |

Also, something I don't understand is the voltage of 4.8 vs 6.0. I realize that in a nitro truck you'd be feeding the servo a 6V battery pack. But what about for BL vehicles? Am I still only concerned w/ the 6v data or neither? Speed and torque are what you want to look at right?
|
You would need to run an external BEC to get 6V or higher. The Mamba Max Pro has an adjustable internal BEC that can be set at up to 7V, but most other ESCs are fixed at 5V.

If your serious about a higher end servo let me know which one and I'll see what I can do about getting you one through the shop, mm-K ? Anything JR would be my personal choice but I own several Hitecs that are bad to the bone also. |

I push 6.5v thru all of the servos I run with the castle bec, makes them real peppy! The 9100t servo in a e revo with that ccbec set for 6.5v could turn the truck when i held the front wheels with my feet.
