Sounds interesting, but I can't really imagine what you did there.
So, let's see some pics :yipi:

By the way: What do you think about the STRC parts?

nitrostarter 06.25.2010 09:46 AM

Ryu: what are your initial thoughts on the Jammin kit? Advantages over the Slash 4x4 besides that it based off a buggy platform(CRT.5)?

I'm thinking had about possibly getting one to fix up as well.

i like the jammin kit so far but i havent driven it yet so we'll see. i traded my slash for a Losi Ten T with a RCM conversion and i plan to convert that to a SCT. i do like the jammin kits layout much better than the slash. however, the jammin uses ball cups instead of rod ends and has a couple other cheap parts. i have been upgrading all of these parts in my build as i have heard nothing but issues with some of the stock parts. i think out of the box the jammin outperforms the stock slash on the track but the slash is much tougher.

superek4 06.27.2010 08:26 AM

I am racing a scrt10 now changed the ball end to screw on n everything is still stock. Even the setup is stock but yet it performs.

nitrostarter 06.28.2010 11:22 AM

Are you running 17mm hexes?

Ryu James 06.30.2010 02:21 PM

sorry guys, still dont have a working camera but almost done with my jammin. i got a Ten T i am working on now too. i will try to get some pics up this weekend.

jofreak, did you figure out how to mount up the front bumper with the ERC towers?

JoFreak 06.30.2010 03:11 PM

Not even a camera phone?
I really can't imagine what you did with the tbr and slash/RPM stuff.
Wouldn't need high quallity pictures to see what you did there.

Ryu James 07.01.2010 04:33 PM

ok. here are my pics of the front bumper setup. i used a 4x4 slash rpm font bumper, a TBR bumper brace, and the stock plastic shock tower part.

first cut the arms off the "Y" shaped stock part. i shaped mine to be the same shape as the tbr brace. then you need to use a dremel or 1/8 drill bit and grind out a tiny portion of material from your ERC tower where you see the screws with purple locknuts mounted in the pics.

mount the plastic piece to your ERC tower through the bottom holes that mount to the top of the bulkhead.

then mount your tbr brace through the top holes of the plastic part and through the tower. secure on the back with locknuts.

next, mount up the slash bumper. the stock holes line up close enough to just mount to the chassis.

line up the holes in the tbr brace to your slash bumper and drill 2 holes. counter sink, and then screw it together. viola! (the wire you see in the pics is my AMB transponder)

here are just a couple of quick pics of the layout. nothing is mounted up yet but i should have it finished tonight. i decided not to do the carbon parts yet. i have a TenT i am building and will be using carbon for that build. anyway, cant wait to race my jammin. the TenT rear shocks on the front are very responsive and feel great.

I'm thinking had about possibly getting one to fix up as well.

so i actually got my jammin finished and raced it this weekend. to answer your question from experience now the jammin has nothing on the slash 4x4. mind you, my slash was decked out fully but i liked it better....so far. i am going to continue to tweak my jammin and get it dialed in and i am sure i will like it but my lap times were fast with the slash.

one plus to the jammin though is the mechanical brakes i hooked up.

one big negative on the jammin is the chassis catches any rough spots on the track and send you flipping. this was happening to me and my friend who was driving his jammin for the first time. his was all stock with the Chad Bradley settings. where the chassis angles outward from the nose as it gets wider would catch the ground and just dig and flip. need to find a way to fix this. going stiffer springs and fluid changes your handling but might be the only way.

here are some pics of my finished jammin. still need to get front brakes hooked up. and i didnt end up doing any carbon on this one. saving that for my ten t build.

Nice, what did you use for the rear bumper and what shocks are those?
Mechanikal brake parts are from the CRT.5 I guess?
Centerdiff CF top plate from the CRT.5 as well?
Did you make the upper steering plate yourself?
Slash front or rear offset on those wheels?

Don't you think the ESC switch is in a disadvantageous location?
Especially if it is in the off position as shown in the first picture.

Lot's and lot's of questiions, I know...

rear bumper is a TBR skid with the losi LST bumper screwed to it.

front shocks are losi Ten T rear shocks

center top plate and brake parts are all from CRT.5

front top plate i made from 2mm carbon

regular slash 4x4 wheels

the on/off switch i moved. i just put it there for the pics. but i knew it wouldnt last long there.

tonight is race night and i have made some adjustments from last week. i am hoping it drives a bit better tonight and i can get it dialed in.

on another note my Ten T is coming along. Got my carbon shock towers started on last night. i will start a new thread on it soon.

Ryu James 07.17.2010 03:04 AM

last night was race night and i still had some tweaking to do. i qualified 3rd on the night but then after making some final adjustments smoked everyone in the main. my esc shorted somehow with 20 seconds left in the race and i was out of commish for about 15 seconds. since i had lapped everyone i still won as i ended up with more laps than all the other drivers.

needless to say i am happy with this build and after 3 weeks of tweaking and tuning finally got it dialed in. woot!!

Ryu James 07.24.2010 05:20 PM

recent pics!

got a new body mounted up on the jammin. then my track tells me that i cant use it cuz it doesnt cover the wheel wells. anybody with a jammin interested in this body?
i really like it and its more aerodynamic. the other thing thats cool is the side of the body sits inside the chassis mudgurads so it really keeps the inside of your ride clean.
