Got the new wheel and tyres glued up... they'll need be balanced before I run them... so I used the stock ball hubs and shafts that came with the car to make an improvised
tyre balancer... as soon as I get my new gears, i'll know how effective it is... see the pics below...

Update... :yipi:I finally got my batteries (Protek hard case 50c 5000mah 2s) and new gears (99t, 93t, 22t, 23t and 24t)... got them all mounted up and did some small tests with mechanics and the electrics... everything seems to be running well together so far... I hope i can get it on the track this weekend to see how well it runs...

velcro was added to the lipo casing and battery hold downs to reduce the chance of the lipo sliding around... the hold downs were
also raised via 2 x 2mm (4 in all) shims to allow the packs fit comfortably

having a little fun with the throttle... the motor gets to top rpm very quickly and it does so smoothly... low speeds are nice, no cogging

Looks GREAT! Those are some very nice shots you've taken.

About that Racer's Edge servo arm. Can you tell me if the linkage hole is tapped for a 3mm Screw or 2.5mm?

Also, How does the Locking spindle part work out, does it clamp around the Spindle and Also use the standard screw to hold it on the servo ??? 4 total screws? Thank you, Sir.

Hey Zippy, thanks man... the servo arm uses a 3mm for the spindle hole... most of the holding force is created by the two tiny screws that are mounted through the sides of the clamp...
I used the M3 screw to push the arm down over the spindle because the initial fit is a little tight... If you want additional holding power from the M3 screw, you will need to shim the inside of
the spindle hole... the linkage hole is 3mm and you will be using a total of 4 screws...

Pics and car : work of art ! :yipi:
Protek lipos are great I really like mine you won't be disappointed !

ANGRY-ALIEN 10.09.2010 07:36 PM

Thanks Popoxx ... yeah, these lipos sure pack some punch... it's been raining here for a couple weeks, so no test runs on the track..
I did some runs on the carpet at office a couple days ago and it was whole lot of fun.. i'll make an update as soon as get the car on track.

Those are great motors! And you can run them well into the 200's every run and the rotors hold up. Mod touring car is the bombb

ANGRY-ALIEN 10.11.2010 12:16 AM

Yep... it's got real power alright... i took it out to have a run today... it was a hand full man... sick sick acceleration... man this thing was a handful... handling was a little tricky...
so I have some work to do... but i must say, THIS THING IS FAST!!!...

Looks great Alien. That reciever looks like it might get a bit wet in that position if you decide to drive through any puddles. You might want to try sticking it on top of the servo to keep it warm and snug :na:

snellemin 11.03.2010 02:35 PM

Very good pics mang. The ones with the drivetrain spinning is my favorite.

ANGRY-ALIEN 11.03.2010 02:43 PM

Yeah, so true... in fact I just had the receiver fail after running through small puddle during practise on Sunday... I won't be doing that again... the moisture seems to have knocked out the throttle channel...
I'm sending it in to Airtronics for repairs...

What's going on with your build? when are you going to post up some photos? I made some changes with mine... I'll make some updates later today..
