you will need the 125 Quark, the 80 will not cut it.

And dont forget that RC-Monster now stocks the Quarks and the NEU motors as well....

cspurlock, do you have any close-up pics of the motor mount area?

I have the H8 as well and am trying to devise a strong motor mount for it. I'm basically cusrious about motor width and length clearances.

I'm still not sure if I want to stick with the stock 46T steel spur and get a hardened steel pinion, or go with a plastic/delrin spur and use a regular pinion. I read that the Kyosho 46T is a direct fit.

One of the things I noticed about the stock steel spur is that it is slightly out-of-round. It's not much but might cause issues I think. Also, the spur is threaded on the hub, or so I've read. I'm thinking the threadlock might break loose when braking or going in reverse. These issues are amking me lean toward using a Kyosho spur, if it will fit.

I idn't notice that it was upside down...oops! How hard was it to resolder the motor wires? i may need to add length in time if i switch motors, so just curious.

Go with the Kyosho spur. In the end it will be cheaper, since if you keep the steel spur and want to try different gearing you'll end up spending a fortune on hardened gears. I can confirm the Kyosho spur gear fits the Hyper 8 diff since that's the diff I picked up off of Ebay. But you might have to play around with the shims to get the spur to fit properly (with proper internal gear mesh).

Great. I might just do that then. I just don't relish the task of messing with the diff to get it shimmed right, plus it's messy. It would be nice to have some type of hub that bolted to the diff and then the spur would bolt to that - similar to how the 51T spur works. That way, replacing spurs would be quicker.

I read somewhere that JT Racing makes an adapter for Hyper 7 diffs that allows you to use the Ofna 51t spur gear. It would fit the Hyper 8 diff, so it seems like that's what you're looking for.

I'll do some searching when I get home tonight. I looked around at the Hyper8 section of the Ofna forum, but no one seems to be doing any kind of BL conversions there...
