wow...that's just about the complete opposite of what my experience has been. here's the God's honest truth. Between my buddy and i we have a losi 8ight, 2 rc8's and an RC8TE...we run at an abandoned motorcross track near where we live, race at a fairly new track and parking lot jump 3 days a week for the most part. every one of them has broken, but the e-revo keeps going and going. i'd like to try to help you pin point maybe where you might have a setup issue. First, i've been driving for many many years...goin on 25. jumping correctly is 90% of the equasion. i assume you know how to correct the attitude midair? and how to land? and how to approach the jump? the second thing is suspension setup. i rarely ever completely bottom out. i run purple springs on the front with 80wt oil and 70wt in the rear with blue springs. i use GRP big block tires 2350 motor 68/22 modified motor plate my other revo uses 100wt in the front and rear with blue springs. that one i can launch. i use badlands for tires. 2200 motor stock gearing my race revo has blue springs all around with 80wt oil and city block tires. it handles pretty well and i like it fairly loose. 2200 motor stock gearing. as far as how it handles against the RC8TE...well, the TE handles better on every area of the track, but mine hasn't broken. his has. maybe that has to do with my driving ability. with the bent stub axles and such, it makes me think you might be crashing alot. if that's the case, that might be 90% of your issue. my issue with the buggies are they always take such a beating on my track. the chassis' get beaten to shit and the radio trays crack from the shock of landings and i've bent 2 motor mounts not to mention a few sets of front and rear driveshafts and the front and rear cvds. imo, they aren't anywhere as durable as my revos. i have an almost new 8ight that i just don't wanna drive anymore because i almost beat my RC8 to death. if i can get a few hundred bucks out of it to put towards somehting for my revo, then imo, it's worth it. |

I sold my Revo.. and my LX1e... to buy a better buggy... I do miss the huge air, and not caring about if i land properly... It's not cheap to repair the Hyper 9e... but i havent really had to buy parts yet (knock wood). I ran my Revo at the local indoor track and it was just to big.. too much of a beast, and not safe with small kids wanting to marshal... not that the buggy is any safer.. just more controlled i guess... plus there is actually a buggy class and usually i had the only monster truck there... |

The Revo is a go anywhere do anything kind of vehicle and that works better for me where i live. We have harsh winters and i need something good in snow...it rains like hell for 2 months out of the year too. i like taking the revo to the motorcross track and doing big air jumps when it's muddy. the buggy didn't handle the motorcross track very well. it had too many ruts and it was hard on the chassis. so, after buying 3 revos, i gotta get rid of the buggy. i'm running out of room. i have rc shit piled up everywhere and it's pissing off the wife.  i've got it for sale on rc-tech and ebay. hopefully someone will take it off my hands. |
I absolutely agree with the E-Revo being a very enjoyable all around truck. The one thing I grew to dislike about it was the consistant dual battery thing. After awhile I just got sick of having to carry around twice as many batteries as the wifes slash. It took everything I could throw at it.
Now I bash my Electric Raze and it has become my everyday go out and play RC. I like that it is tanklike, and I can carry just one extra battery and get an hour and a halfs worth of bashing with two packs instead of four. I think you will be happy with your choice however. |
The stock shafts & yokes are a weak point, the dual servo setup sucks also but aside from that they're great
I think a large part of the durability is the plastic chassis, it can absorb a staggering about of abuse |
just sold the eight to one of my bashing buddies. :yipi::party::yipi:
