Slick build Mac. With that much room why not a bigger motor?

mac3194 12.14.2010 07:17 PM

because bigger motor = lower kv and i want to go fast!! lol & thanks

simplechamp 12.14.2010 11:11 PM

If you want to go fast I would say bigger motor and higher voltage battery setup (to make up for the lower kv as you mentioned).

mac3194 12.15.2010 11:01 AM

Ok what will be faster a 1518 on 6s or 1515 on 5s???

reno911 12.15.2010 11:33 AM

Either on 6s would suffice. You could probably gear higher on the 1518 and get some more speed out of it, but you'll get more rpm's with the 1515. Not sure really those motors are close competitors.

With all that room I would run two 3s packs.

Any word on those diffs?

mac3194 12.15.2010 04:21 PM

Yea for drag racing I'll be running 25/47 on 5s and once it gets warm again I'll buy a pair of 3s Lipos I'm aiming for 70? Do u think it's possible?? And my diffs and fluid should be here tomorrow

mac3194 12.17.2010 05:31 PM

went for a quick run on 5s with my new tires:http://cgi.ebay.com/NIB-On-road-Slic...item4839bf213c
So far i can say they are really good because they don't Balloon?!?!?! But i cant say anything about them having good traction because the snow just melted and the streets were still wet. I couldn't do a good drag drag run because if a hammered the throttle it would just be burning out endlessly, so hopefully when the street dries i can get traction and get a good run

Cool build Mac, like I said I may have to hit you up for one of those chassis to build something similar with the extra buggy I have. I even have a spare 2650 and mmm that could power it.

Still interested in seeing what sort of lid you come up with for this thing.

mac3194 12.17.2010 06:55 PM

i have kno idea what kind of lid i can get for this but it roughly has a 22" wheelbase... any ideas??

Overdriven 12.17.2010 09:19 PM

Thats close enough for a HPI baja, either the truck or the buggy as they are 22.5" wheelbase. FG, MCD, Redcat are all around 20" btw.

Is there a car body in that size?? I dnt really see my self spending 100+ dollars on a body :/ maybe I'll make one out of some thin acrylic sheets

Overdriven 12.18.2010 09:44 AM

The Baja buggy body isn't that expensive is it? Look on eBay for the Baja clone bodies, should be a bunch cheaper either way. I think fg/mcd onroad bodies are 535mm wheelbase.

For an on road car?
