Yah, I would agree that Brushless is better than Nitro, but I love my nitro for long bashing sessions. Can't top the power of my brushless though.

It is an age old fight. some like the nitro others like electric. They both have ups and downs. I think it is nice to have both. That away you can have a choice of the day to play with.

This should be a neat project, you may need to get creative mounting stuff on that chassis it is long but kinda narrow, I thought about that truck before I got the jammin crt instead, it can be done no doubt and it is sure to be badass, good luck

ya making brackets won't be hard because I work for a company that makes composites and the boss has already said I can make parts from the scrap when I am not on the clock. It's still two days till I get it, I'm getting impatient. :)

I got the truck the other day, and started taking off everything that I'm not going to need for the brushless setup. So now I am trying to find out where I am going to put the batteries, because the chasis is just barely wide enough on one side to mount them but there isn't enough room on the other side. And the rx box is in the way of just about anywhere I would like to mount them.

I have already made the motor mount bracket I just have to do a little more trimming before it is ready to go on. And the speed controller bracket will be done soon also.

If anybody has any ideas or suggestions on where the batteries could go it would be greatly appreciated.

Well, i don't know about the hellfire, i haven't looked at it's exploded views, but with the HB lightning i did, the problem was that the centerdiff was off-center.. i made a 5 mm thick plate, that centered that little bugger right in the middle of the frame, enabling me to have the batteries on eacht side.

I dished the RCbox, you don't want to work around it.

I also replaced the steering servo, and i don't know if you are planning on using the mechanical brakes.

When I did a buggy. I had to lose the receiver box. Look around at some of the buggies to get you an idea. It has the center diff in it like the buggies.

Thanks serum that really helped. Ya the center diff is off center so it won't be anything to make a little bracket to move that thing back to where I'm gonna need it. The motor mount I made holds the motor in the same spot as yours but I hadn't seen your pics. I guess great minds really think alike. :)

What is your set up on that truck serum, and what is your gearing?

Well, it uses a 12/51 spur/pinion and the Hotbodies has got this nice diff combo, they are 10/43 instead of 13/43.

It uses a 7XL on 16 cells. The current owner is very happy with it.

I tried it with a 10/51 and 12/51 on 10/51 it was crazy in terms of acceleration.
Topspeed was not too high though, nice for bashing and racing though.

the 12/51 was a nice average, still not too fast, about 35-40 mph bit with a nice punch in acceleration, that was with 50K centerdiff oil. It just took off with acceleration, it was fun to drive, suspension was a bit too soft imo, but i think the current owner changed the springs.

It looked fast in the video of it. I was curious for my projects. What size tire did you run on it in testing?
