I mounted the ESC on the underside of the roof, it's out of the way and the wires are much neater coming down to meet the battery's and motor

I'm curious, how did your first driveshaft fail? (Mine has held up well)

thzero 02.10.2011 09:21 AM

That's not a bad idea! :)

This is what RC-Monster is about, that is an awesome build.

How much does it weigh rtr?

This thing is definitely awesome. I have had great luck with those Turnigy HV Titanium servos so far. I run the 2S version, HV767.

I think it might have had a slight bend in it and with the torque and speed of the 1717 it just twisted.

It weighs 7kg with everything in it

thzero 02.10.2011 04:40 PM

15.4lbs... not bad, my Savage conversion was about a pound heavier.

I would rather have one like yours than a real baja, much cooler, lighter, BL, and 4wd!

Thanks mate it is pretty awesome, I got a lot satisfaction in building it and it's great feeling when your driving it knowing you built it.

_paralyzed_ 02.11.2011 12:20 PM

Wow man!! That thing is awesome!! Why haven't you come to Rc-Monster sooner?

Great build I love it!

Building it yourself tends to have that effect, gotta love that feeling. My rebuilds and minor customization just isn't cutting it for me right now. I think it's time for me too build my own monster truck based 5b buggy, I've been admiring everyone else's long enough. Although I do still have the 5t body from my failed stretch chassis Revo, descisions descisions.

+1

IMO your Baja looks much more cooler than a real one! Great job! You might want to replace the stock shock for a aluminium one, Losi (and other companys) have got nice anodized shocksfor LST/muggys.

Dj_Sparky 02.11.2011 05:49 PM

What shock tower is that? And I'm guessing the bulkheads are losi muggy?

Very nice work.

magman 02.11.2011 06:33 PM

very nice indeed. I have always wanted to do a 5th scale conversion using a truggy as a base...been thinking about it for 3 yrs... I may have to rekindle the idea.

You should do one made, it's very rewarding. I think i have seen your stretched revo on youtube in a car park going over a small jump, it looked like the counter lever suspension setup isn't up the size of 5th scale.
