According to Hitec, they said that most servos rate their torque at stall, whereas these are not. So those 600 oz-in servos may in reality be closer in performance to these 486 oz-in BL servos.

And about the reduced current draw: I think it's nice because a lesser BEC can be used. The people with BEC issues on a MMPro using regular servos probably won't even notice a glitch with these since they don't draw nearly as much.

Umm since running them higher has no effect why would you want to? The switching circuit (if present) would keep the servo at full output regardless of input voltage. That is good.

I already run my 7980s on 7.8v I believe and it makes a difference in both speed and power, I was hoping you could do the same to these. With a CCbec input voltage is requlated anyway. The only time power should vary is running a receiver pack which in my opinion should be a thing of the past.

BrianG if I had $150 just floating around I'd do some real world testing of the 7950 equivalent to the 7980, see how it compares. I can stall the later reasonably easily on the high grip rock I crawl on.

This sounds promising for my 4s MMP setup.
I like the idea of it staying at a constant V

I just wish the cases were clear so I could see the little green monster motors inside doin their thing. Can't wait to see some prices and get some feedback.

It's actually a tiny little silver monster... :)

They do have hall sensors.

Damn, I need two of these now. The crawler guys will be thanking you Patrick!

Pdelcast 04.05.2011 02:50 PM

These really are AMAZING servos.

Arct1k 04.05.2011 04:38 PM

In need of beta testers? My super crawler needs some muscle. My 7980s are a bit weak lol

Does this mean the little silver monsters are the begining of a cc sensored motor line? That would be awesome!

Does anyone know if these are still coming out this month.

TexasSP 07.22.2011 07:09 PM

I hope so. Been holding off on new servos waiting for these.

cmac 07.22.2011 07:52 PM

I think this servo would be perfect for the truck I'm building. Hey what part of town are you in Texassp?

kingdomracer 07.22.2011 08:52 PM

They were mentioned in Buggy & Truggy mag Vol. 3
I've been holding out for these too and wouldn't mind them getting here soon.
