Since I couldn't find a cheap donor, the project was scrapped. Ideally, I'd like to get something a little more durable with proper suspension and everything; something like a mini-ATV. I was going to post on the Trx link, but my old user/pass doesn't seem to work. The poster mentions using a microcontroller, which is fine, but I think a modded servo tester (replace the tester's pot with the pedal's pot) would be easier. Or, use a 556 timer IC with the appropriate timing components. |

You need to go back to post 4 and 7 and reread before you accuse me of coming in here and "and shoving stuff down your throat". I merely linked a video and someone else made the comment. you choose to follow rules all the time in society and who you deal with as well. I choose the same also. if you didn't like what I said then you shouldn't have read any further. just because I post a link showing that someone had made a rc powered bigger kids car and then someone else makes a negative post about that I said he was smart. you say that " your users " but you mean the rcm users are active on the traxxas boards and don't like it there then why are some that are on The rcm boards pretty heavy posters on the traxxas boards ? if they hate them boards that much as you're attesting then I'd think they'd quit using t hem butthey're posting away. I've personally went head on in The forums at times over their merely getting upset with what I post. I Don't only hang out on The traxxas forums. I have a few I read on. |
Those are funny vids PBO! I don't think I'd want to be on a vehicle going 25mph with plastic wheels though!
Its not a power wheels conversion, but a cool brushless vehicle for a kid. Its radio control for now, but he has plans for making it kid controlled in the future. http://www.rcuniverse.com/forum/m_10246463/tm.htm |

The guy in The thread went as far as making his own switch so his kid don't have to go full throttle when he hits the has pedal. He can just feed it now. Nice project it was........ |
Pbo, those are 2 funny videos. The guy going 25 and the woman who can't keep the car on the ground.

I took my little girls barbie jeep from 12V to 24V. She loved it, but the motors burned out pretty quickly. Then I added some 700 size motors at 24V and they burned out too along with the 12V relay. I've kept it for some remote control conversion in the future. Ideally I'd like to run 2 MMM 2200 combos on 6S with the 19t 32 pitch pinions, but I just cant see sinking that much cash into a barbie jeep with plastic tires.
Took the 6V atv tracker to 14.4V and its been holding up fine and they've had a blast on that, but they are getting older now so I got them some electric scooters. |
6s lipo + stock motors= a lot of smoke!! after i read this i remembered my little bro had a 6v jeep so i soldered some deans and started with 3s and then 4s and then of course 6s and i was riding it and i way 150lbs lmao and i was goin fast in the grass!! lol and the after 30s the motors went out :( well it was worth the few minutes lol i want to do it again!

So my suggestion, take a deep breath, relax, and move on. No back to overpowered children's toys a-la Tim the Tool Man Taylor! |
