I really miss that truck. I don't really have a good reason for getting rid of it other than I wanted a lighter truck, and to have platform sharing between buggy/truggy. But I was never unsatisfied with it. Did need some upgrades though to withstand my idea of abuse.

looks nice but i still have put my mbx6t thru the ringer and bashed it I am sure hpi makes very durable trucks but will stick to MUGEN

The Mugen is a nice truck, they always have been. But they are also an expensive truck. The LSP-R was a very durable truck for its time, and with minor upgrades is an absolute tank in terms of durability. If the Trophy is similar in design and you can find some older 7075 A-arms with some of the king heads hop-ups then you'll never break it again. EVER. It takes ALOT to break the diff casings, so it does suck when they break, but frequency I had in replacing parts on that truck was nearly never. The only times I ever broke it was doing super stupid stuff that doesn't allow room for error. Aka, bashing at a BMX track, or doing Exhibitions at a Monster Jam event. I used to do that once or twice a year with Team RCMX in Omaha NE.

Was a blast. Huge Monster Truck sized jumps, 10,000+ people in the stands cheering you on as you break a whole bunch of stuff. Expensive weekends, but FUN weekends. Quad vs RC car races too.

It was almost as much fun to tally up the damage totals as it was to break the stuff on live TV.

The more I have been looking at this thing the more I want it. Glad to see such good reviews about the lightning statium truggy. Will order some aluminum hubs and find the CV shafts with the lst outdrive shafts. Cant wait. I was going to build an electric losi ten-t ut this is bigger and cheaper to boot. I have the 2s lipos already so why not :D

I bought the Knuckles and C-Hubs from RCMart.com, they are Top cad. The hybrid CVD's were assembled from spare parts, but i don't remember the part numbers.

Actually, I just noticed they are out of stock. I'm guessing its more likely that they are out of Production instead. :(

Honestly these are tanks but a Gen-0/1 Truggy.

I wouldnt be investing money in this but think you'd be much better off buying a RC8T or Losi 2.0T roller which could be had as cheap.

I had the 8ight and loved racing it. I also ended up racing out my e-revo. HAd fun but the racers around me are not the friendliest people if they lose. I sold all my stuff b/c of it and focused all on my rc flying (planes and helis) Much nicer group of people. I have always wanted a truggy and just want one to run around the yard and do some simple bashing. I got my son a brushless e-maxx and want somthing I can run with him with but will still handle better than a monster truck. So cheap is fine with me as I do not plan on racing again. I would LOVE to have a 8ight-t but its so much more than the trophy truggy would be and again Im not going to be racing again(just playing with my son)

Exactly the reason I have a truggy. The buggy is awesome, and nimble to the extreme. But it just cannot take big air, and curbs can occasionally be a problem if you wanna hop over one to get on the grass.

I can't stand how Savages and the bigger MT's handle and jump. Sure, they land big air well, as long as you land on your wheels and they are nowhere near as controllable in the air. The truggy soothes my Buggy addiction for speed/handling and still lets me fool around on rougher surfaces.

Still want to build a brushless buggy though.

I made my 8ight brushless with a MMM and the 2650. I also had a sportworks termoil that I put a castle HV120 hydro in and a fagio 8xl on 5s.

I got the front and back bulks, diffs, Knuckles, arms, and such.
I cut my chassis up to make a different chassis and got out of the hobby a bit.
If get a new chassis with most of the braces and such for the HPI seems I can just bolt up.

But if someone had a LSP, and wanted to do a brushless conversion they could buy the chassis and have a OEM brushless setup if they wanted.

The fact that this truck uses so much LSP hardware is good. It means that those with LSP's will be able to get their parts!

Got my trophy truggy today. Its pretty nice. Alot of slop in a few areas (gives me something to work on I guess) Wish it had CV shafts instead of dog bones but hey its cheap and the front has them (its just the middle and rear that has the dog bones) So would the CV hsafts from the Lightning Statium Truck pro work on this Those are 17mm hex style and this is the same truck right? I will see if I can find a link to the CV shafts.

Throttle is smooth (just drove it around the house real quickfor a few seconds) will test it out tomorrow and see whats she has :D Hoping to out run my sons e-maxx with the novak 6.5 system in it. Guess we will see. Need to put fluid in the diffs, the center unloads WAY to easy

They should work just fine. I don't think HPI changed the rear A-arm design.

OK got my trophy truggy. I like it. It's defiantly not of the quality of the the losi eight I had but its 1/2 the cost too :D
Got the wife to take a few pics for me.

I hit a tree today and broke my shock shaft and found that NO ONE in the us seems to carry parts. I idi find that amainhobbies has parts for the lightning so I ordered a few parts from them. Also ordered some ball bearings for the steering as there is some slop in that from the bushings in it and got some double rubber sealed bearings for the diffs and wheels as the stock bearings are only metal shielded. Now its a wiatig game for the parts to come in.

Just hope that HPI gets some parts over here in the states for this thing some time soon
