I know the stocks aren't up to much cop but I really can't afford 8 or 6 spiders. I really want the Hybrid cases though so this looks like a good option :mdr:
The FLM hybrids with diffs are about as good as it gets.
Yeah I agree but you have to pay through the nose to get them!
What if you just need the diffs themselves? Will they be offered to be sold separately?

You will not find a better price or option for 1/8 scale diffs, only thing that comes close for less money are the LST2 diffs, which have to be modified in order to work correctly ( mounting spacers & swap the output shafts etc ): http://www.rc-monster.com/forum/show...t=9153&page=15 |
Best option
This is surely the best option to the stock setup, and for the price there is no way to beat this deal. Way to go RCM & FLM for stepping up your game or this class of R/C vehicle. Using the 8 spyder diffs are surely the strongest setup you can buy, but the 6 spyder should be just fine. $90 for the entire setup is just awsome.

So do they come with shims if not what size do you need and what brand of diff is that in case i need to repair one? And i was wondering what gear ratio will i need i have a stock emaxx with MM

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/New-Ofna-P...item336fd42bc7 Looks like the ones ( look at the pinion gear & how it is reduced to 5mm at the end, most others are 8mm all the way along ). If shims are needed, then they will be 8x10x0.2mm shims, easy to find: http://www.amainhobbies.com/product_...02mm-Washer-10 What do you mean by stock emaxx & MM- do you mean the newer 3908 & the MMM ( MambaMonster ( Max ) = MMM, MambaMax = MM; don't mix them up... ) system? In that case, you ony need to gear up 1-2 teeth on the pinion gear to get the same overall ratio as you would have with the stock diffs. I recommend something around 22-24/65 on 4s lipo for ~40mph, but let your motor, esc & battery temps guide you if you want to go faster ( a hot motor and cool esc means you need to gear up, viceversa means gear down ). More lovely info about gearing and emaxx related stuff in my sig :intello: |
diffs are a godsend for peopel looking to beef up. I wish i would have been a few weeks later ida saved hundreds not buying UE 8 spider diffs.
Ive got mine all shimmed out thanks to neil they feel good now the problem i have is the cvd"s keep popping out with the suspension dropped all the way down do i use the extended erevo cups or the hpi cups i looked at there dimensions and the stocks are 17mm long and the extended ones are 19mm long will 2mm make that much difference?

Yeah that was the first thing i tried i found that the cups that they send you with the kit work great but they only send you four two for the transmission and two for the rear or front diffs leaves me two short
That would be 4x drive cups for the diffs only- normally you would continue to use your stock centre driveshafts so no need for cups on the tranny. If you buy a set of dogbones or have an aftermarket chassis which includes dogbones, then you'd buy or have 2 more drive cups for use there too.
Ill try that but i dont believe you can use the cvd style driveshafts with this chassis but i might be wrong this is my first build so bear with me lol !
