depending on the quality of the batteries.

i am using a 9L on my mbx4 and it runs nice and relative cool

Philyon 06.05.2006 10:49 AM

Is it possible to have a picture of two batteries packs in series ? I never use them like this and I would like to know how to wire them to the controller please.

Serum -> Could you send me a pic of your mb4x with all connected parts in details please ? It will be very helpfull for my project ! I always ran Tamiya cars with Tamiya connectors and it's a bit difficult to have a good idea of how wire all that with new connectors and cables !

Thanks you ! :003:

3 Attachment(s)
Dirty.. but doable..

RCHippie did the conversion. He did a great job on it. I love it.

make the motormount from an L profile. If you have got a differential holder that has got an upper and a lower part, connect the motor to the upper part (the two holes of the brake are handy in this)

Philyon 06.05.2006 11:23 AM

Thanks Serum !

I ordered a motor mount to "Coldfusion" from "radiocontrolzone" forum and it has a L profile too. I think i'll receive it in the next days.

(Finally I ordered a Feigao 540C 9l with bk9920.)

Can you send me a pic of your battery pack in series please ?

Ok so what do I need to convert my Xray to a Brushless system. I would like to try to stay within a budget and I have 2 3200 7.2 v lipo and 1 6400 7.2 lipo.

Thanks,
Scott

They look like a hack-job to me?

How much do you need to pay for them?

Philyon 06.07.2006 05:25 PM

It cost $22 per piece. But I'm waiting for it, I didn't receive it yet.

On the other hand I received my order from Mike ! But now I need Mod1 pinion (I forgot to order it ... )

The questions are :

-With my Feigao 540C 9L and a Kyosho 44 tooth nylon spur diffs, how much tooth pinion must I need exactly ? 12, 13 ?

- Do I need to order for my 9L a "5mm bore, mod1 pitch pinion" or "RC-Monster Hardened Steel Mod1 Pinions" ??

Thanks

You don't need much items if you already have your car
The essentiel pieces are : motor + esc + 2x6 cells (or lipo) + motormount

Romster 06.07.2006 09:50 PM

I bought a cold fusion motor mount..$22
Order it in Dec 2005 and received it at the end of February 2006. 2 1/2 months
Just to warn you. You might be waiting a while. You send money but, he does not really return your e-mails.... Comes up with all the excuses my computer went down, out of materials, busy with school, I am only 16yrs old, and ect............ and the list of excuses goes on...........
Some customers got their motor mounts
-motor mount is crooked
-Holes on motor mount does not line up correctly.
-Holes are to small
Some of the batch of mounts come out ok.
Glad my came out ok... Nice and beefy.
I will never buy from Cold fusion products! Customer service S#!KS !!!

An yes you need too order a 5mm mod1 pinion for your 9L. That is if you have a 5mm shaft on your 9L.
hope this helps.

Romster 06.07.2006 09:52 PM

Serum,
Yes!! It is a Hack Job!

Philyon 06.08.2006 03:30 AM

Thanks Romster ! I hope I'll receive it soon ... Wait and see

So I'll order a 5mm Mod1.

hum.. 12 or 13 tooth in your opinion ?

Serum 06.08.2006 07:09 AM

12 to start with. Closely observe the temps of the motor/speedo though..

If you just get an L profile, jigsaw, rasps, dremel and some patience, you can make your own, any way you like it.

Dafni 06.08.2006 07:19 AM

Those mounts really are nothing special. And if you don't manage to make the holes lining up... says alot.

I myself would not dare to sell something like this.
