Thanks man! Modifying is definitely my favorite part!
I don't plan on selling any of this stuff, so when something doesn't work, I have no problem cutting, filing, drilling, grinding, or bending anything necessary to make it fit how I want it. Plus, it makes it a little different from what others have, and I like that. -Travis |
I like the red suspension limiter straps you have on there. Are they custom?
Great build here! |
Thanks!
The red limiter cables are commercial grade galvanized 7x7 strand nylon coated wire rope from McMaster Carr. I got some in black and some in red. The black is on my FLM truck. -Travis |

Built up a set of shocks with some blue accents to match the body for this truck instead of the de-anodized set I had on it (I'll use that set of shocks on the HVL)
http://www.unlimitedengineering.com/...e1_745237.jpeg I had to thread tape the shock bodies so the piggybacks hopefully won't leak anymore (been having issues with that on my other ones, even when just sitting :grrrrrr: ) http://www.unlimitedengineering.com/...e2_938217.jpeg http://www.unlimitedengineering.com/...e3_801154.jpeg And last week I hit the Racer's Edge Shock End JACKPOT! lol :mdr: Apparently they even made them in black (kind of wish all of them were that way). And I got a bunch of blue washers to accent the rest of the truck, to go along with the blue shocks and blue body. http://www.unlimitedengineering.com/...e4_113439.jpeg -Travis |
That is one sweet built. So shiny!

I can't see any of the pics.

Oh yeah!
I glad I didn't miss this one. Sweet ride you build there. |
Received some custom aluminum battery trays for this machine yesterday :yipi:
http://www.unlimitedengineering.com/...e1_109345.jpeg And as with any custom build, of course I immediately ran into a (minor) road block. The center diff mounting plate I made interfere's with Greg's trays. http://www.unlimitedengineering.com/...e2_748132.jpeg But a little filing & dremel work, and voila! http://www.unlimitedengineering.com/...age3_9864.jpeg http://www.unlimitedengineering.com/...e4_782729.jpeg Fit like a glove :mdr: http://www.unlimitedengineering.com/...e5_109359.jpeg http://www.unlimitedengineering.com/...e6_902364.jpeg http://www.unlimitedengineering.com/...e7_860479.jpeg -Travis |
It's getting better and better, which is unbelievable because it was already top notch.
I feel like rebuilding my "CyberMaxx" and giving it as much attention to detail as you have with your build. Keep up the good work! |
Wow!
|
Thanks paralyzed! It really is an awesome truck. So much cooler in person too, as pictures just don't capture things quite the way they really are.
I've got one more detail up my sleeve for this project, that should really put it over the top, so stay tuned :mdr: -Travis |
Well, the final piece of the puzzle has fallen into place on this thing. Took some more modifying, but I got a motor in it now, and she fits like a glove!
Back when I made the new plate for mounting the center diff, and cut down the RCM mount to get the center bones leveled out so they'd go through Gregers' chassis supports, I'd completely overlooked the fact that lowering all of it down into the chassis, created a problem http://www.unlimitedengineering.com/.../IMG_3459.JPEG So, since I'd already done all of that work, and removed material from the RCM mount, there was really no turning back. And since the 1520 was so long, I had to use a shorter motor. So I modified the upper deck :oh: to accept a Tekin T8 1350kv, which is a little shorter than the 1520 http://www.unlimitedengineering.com/.../IMG_3460.JPEG http://www.unlimitedengineering.com/...e3_677639.jpeg http://www.unlimitedengineering.com/.../IMG_3462.JPEG And it fit perfectly, all tucked down in there nice and snug like. haha http://www.unlimitedengineering.com/.../IMG_3882.JPEG http://www.unlimitedengineering.com/.../IMG_3883.JPEG http://www.unlimitedengineering.com/.../IMG_3881.JPEG -Travis |
Love the custom work!
