I may write a "How-to" on polishing for the forums at some point. To do a great job a wide array of "tools" are required including buffs of different sizes (3/8" up to 8") and different firmness' plus various polishing compounds. Properly polishing parts is part art & part science in my opinion and takes a while to properly explain. I'll be happy to answer any questions though!

Maybe Integy has stepped up their quality recently. Perhaps the Supermaxx knock off's they manufacture have better material or manufacturing practices than their other parts. Maybe the improved strength is due to the excellent (albeit stolen) design. I know I've broken their parts as have friends of mine. I'm an engineer by trade (not the choo choo train type either!) and my father is a manufacturing engineer with a strong backround in metalurgy. With my experience in building racing engines and chassis plus assisting on a nostalgia Top Fuel drag racing team I've learned to evaluate metal failures based on visual inspection. Metal porosity and impurity inclusion is a leading cause of part failure. Every broken integy part I've had the opportunity to inspect has what I consider to be high porosity (looks like a sponge) which equals low strength. Every part I've seen & worked with has been cast then machined to look "upscale".

So, maybe they've stepped it up a notch and if you and LeRoy give it the "thumbs up" that's great. I'm just saying my experience with Integy hop-up's has been disappointing. Yes UE parts are REALLY expensive. They are the best built and best engineered however. I'm finally able to afford some of their parts after "dreaming" about owning a Supermaxx truck for a couple of years now. And even now I can't justify $400 for diffs and $500 for the VBS system..............I've gotta eat too! LOL

BTW. I love the G-Maxx chassis and will own one at some point. G-Maxx quality is excellent! (Materials, fit, and finish are A++ just like Unlimited Engineering)

I run the gmaxx suspension and love it. i have great handling, it sticks to the ground like glue. I also bash with it and it's holding up great!

I have broken the older and type 1 parts. I can understand totally on the crap quality you saying on them.
I not sure what they changed on the type 2 bulks and type 3 suspension but it seems better built than the orginal. You are right it is a stolen design and it is not as strong as ue. But then again you get what you pay for. :D

IMO, UE is awesome stuff, but way overpriced. Individuality, if you want to run Integy, run Integy, ue, than ue, gorilla, than gorilla...IMO. My girl runs the type II's on her truck, and they are fine...not the bulks though, they got twisted! LOL

That's fair, and that's what I do.

I think it helps to know how others like the gear before your spend you hard earned $$$ on it though! Nothing like buying things several times over!
