Sounds like CG hit the nail on the head. CHC, remember a while back when you said your Nemesis seemed to be different than the Feigao's and Wanderers? The rotor in particular. I believe you said it was segmented and the Feigao's weren't. Maybe a Nemesis rotor in a Feigao would be the best setup as far as Feigao/Wanderer/Nemesis go. BTW, what the hell did they mean by "I've been in this business long enough to know not to give out alot of info."?

No offense to FD??? why not?.... ;)
There are not many nice things anyone has to say about Chris and Fine Design. He is all about taking your money... doesn't even matter if what he sells you is completely wrong for what you need, or he gives you BS advice. As long as he gets your money, he is happy. After the sale... he won't talk to you unless you are ordering something else. At least that's the Chris I (and tons of others on the forums) have seen... He knows some about BL stuff, sure... he's been in the BL biz a long time. But he's never wrong about anything. And what he knows is boats, and we ain't runnin no stinkin boats around here. :D |
Lol...True, but I haven't had any bad dealings with Chris, but stuff like what CG said is pretty much all I hear about him. Anywho, he was rather nice when I burnt my 9920. He said nothing was evidently wrong with my setup and said send it in and I'll look at it and send it to Germany. A few weeks later he sent me a new one and BK said they would reimburse him for the one that burnt. Now I'm not sure, but I think it might have got a little wet :p. But they would have found that...

Yeah... I haven't been burned by him or anything, but I have talked to him a few times when I first got a bl 1/8 buggy going and bought one of the first nemesis motors from him. The difference in talking to him before and after the sale is very obvious.
Most of the negative feedback is form others on the forums I have read about... and the crap that he sold to them.... motors and controllers that we way wrong for the application, etc. It's just been enough to leave a bad taste... and let others know to be careful in dealing with them. |
I am not sure if the magnet was segmented or not squee. The windings in side look no different. I think I just had a motor that was put together better at the time. It don't hold nothing on lehner. I will soon try a neu motor out. I want to see what the good stuff is about them.
If you double the windings. Wouldn't that lower the resistance. In turn make the motor draw more amps. More amps = more torque and watts |
There is only so much room in the can for wires and I think they use whatever wire size/# of wires to fill the space. Higher turn motors have to use smalller wires and/or fewer wires of course.
For example, my Feigao 8L has a mass of wires that looks like a can of spagetti. I don't know if it's a double, triple, quad, etc... but's not a single that's for sure. And it's jam packed in there so something's gotta give if they want to change the wind or turn of the motor. So they can't just say "we doubled the windings" and have that mean anything in particluar. If you double the # of wires then the wires are smaller. None of the brushless motors I have seen are single winds....or even doubles or triples. In fact it usually looks like a "bundle", however many that is. :) Maybe their "special" wind is better... who knows. |
