Yea, I would go for the 3Racing as well (didn't know they made them, actually...). Definately stay away from GPM. I was gonna buy a few GPM parts, but nothing structural. Only small parts that aren't important...

Yeah on the gear side to push the gears together in the gearbox

i use the ft shocks mounted upside down, havn't leaked for around a year now!

neweuser 10.10.2006 08:59 AM

I got the 3racing shocks. They should be fine to use. It's going to be a slow project i think though. With school and all, not much time to play! ARG!

good winter project....take your time and enjoy it....

neweuser 10.10.2006 09:05 AM

It will be fun. Still need to finish the Gmaxx too. And Mandie's truck, and.....ARG!

i bet your CC companies LOVE you...lol......looks like you have to many irons in the fire.......lol

neweuser 10.10.2006 09:16 AM

It's not all CC. Some of the bigger stuff is. My UE suspension is all paycheck! mini 18 all paycheck....oh, wait, do you know what that is??? A paycheck is somethig you get when you work 40+ hours a week. LOL, yeah, too much going on at one time. Addiction at it's best!

sjcrss 10.10.2006 09:19 AM

For off road try the losi miniT pro shocks with the gold shafts there a little longer and handle the bumps and jumps better.

The trick to fixing the leaks in the FT shocks or any shock with o rings is use Asc green slime to lube the o rings when you build them it does help.:027:

How far can you go with a RC18? this is my 18B that has been over 80mph.:D

JOHNNYMAXXIMA 10.31.2006 04:57 AM

Very nice RC18! Too bad you didn't participate in the "Worlds fastest" shootout in California a couple of months ago (or did you) because it sounds like YOU would be holding the title for "worlds fastest mini" instead of Tony Phalen as featured in the December 2006 issue of RC Car Action. He "only" went 76.9mph with his RC18.
What setup are you using in that beast?
Thanks.

neweuser 10.31.2006 10:25 AM

Very nice toys! Where did you get the chassis and fins? Also, are you running your shocks upside down?

IBJAMMIN 10.31.2006 11:30 AM

I built this car after the WFRCC contest but I will be there next year.:D

right now I have a Quark ESC with a Wraith 7000kv motor with a 4s 2100mah pack the front wing really helps keep it on the ground at high speed a problem Tony Phalen was having is the car going airborn above 70mph.

Yes I run the shocks upside down it helps keep the piston suspended in the fluid on bottom out and no leaks I also flipped the rear arms for 3/8" longer wheelbase and mounted the shocks in front of the axle.:)
