Max amps! Nice holders, looks like they are going to work well for you! Good job!
|
Well, no one tried these motors, yet, but probably you may want to give it a try, Aqwut:

Capt:
I've used the twist before.... but I don't think the other motors will be powerful enough to move this beast.... the Tango's not that big of a motor... ;) New: Thanks... I hope they hold up...there's not as much room for the batteries as I though there would be... I forgot that the machine screw head sticks out about 3-4mm... so it just fits in good....I just don't like the thought of it rubbing on my lipos... I will have to put the batteries a little bit on a slant... only if I'm running 8S 7400 20C packs... The only other thing I'm waitin' for is the pinion.... I tried runing it with my 11.1V 4400 15C Lipos... I held the back of the truck and let it run from 1/4 to full throttle, it only drew 55 Amps Max... but she really pulled man.. |
When we get The video you promised :P ? Cant wait any longer :D
|
yummy looking dog! How much you want per pound? Nice truck! Get a bashing vid when done
|
It's been raining every single day..... ;( I have her all ready to test.... I'll probably kill the cheap acetyl pinion but oh well.... stoopid weather won't clear up.... I'm excited to test it as well....
|
I have some new updated pictures of the GST... I will put fans on the battery trays... after that... I hope I can make it all/most aluminum... Here are the pictures...
made the battery tray/holder look more pretty and modded for dual steering servos... http://www.geocities.com/aqwut/gst3.html http://www.geocities.com/aqwut/2006N..._05_resize.JPG |
:004: :043: :004: darn these truck are nuts!
nice job on the conversion! |
OMG! Nice battery holders, wish I could do the same for my brushless Gen :D
|
I wasn't too hard to do... just took a lot of time with only a jigsaw, drill and a file.... But thanks for the compliment... even the dual steering was easy to do.... to make the tray, just get some cheap angled aluminum and trace out the side chassis... hold it with a vice grip and drill out the holes...
|
OK, Have to try that aluminum thing if my acryl plate wont work..
My lipos comes inside the car now, top of the servos and receiver. Dunno how much it cause unstablenes for my Gen :032: ... |
any updates on this:032:

Sorry for letting this topic pass by.. Somehow i didn't see it.
Nice project Aqwut! i was thinking about doing a Genesis too, this is the one with the centerdiff, right? nice man.. One beefy truck... I am hearing mixed stories about the drivetrain. The diffs; are they standard 1/8th size? are the driveshaft tough? i know they are thick, but are they tough? Good work Aqwut.. Patience pays, you know.. |
Not sure how you missed it rene. But it is nice.
I haven't seen aqwut around lately. Maybe busy again with work. |
You guessed it right CHC..... Work always gets really busy a month before the new years... working very long hours at the mushroom farm.... I shall be more active after the new years...... but the drive train is tough.... I've had no problems with it at all... I customized it to use plastic spurs also.... the metal spurs just eats the pinions.... with 8S 4400 20C, it weights only a little bit more than stock... ever since I finish, I haven't had time to make a video yet.... I still have that to do... looks like no snow this Christmass...... MERRY CHRISTMAS TO ALL OF YOU RC FREAKS.... We'll chit chat next year... :)
