I was talkign the bottom gear with the steel idlers. The plastic idlers will make the trans weak.
|
Welcome Dace!
You should have a bullet proof tranny just by putting in the steel idlers. Running a steel gear in the tranny against steel iders is a bad idea. If you really want the metal gears, try and find a set of Ultramaxx gear set. Too bad man, I just sold my ultramaxxed single speed conversion last week! |
A steel input gear with the steel idlers is not necessarily a problem.
I'll be offering (I think in conjunction w/RC-M) new input shafts an slipper kits. To contend with the steel on steel contact I have DFL coated input gears and can also coat steel idlers (UE or RC-M). Any lube can be used but I've engineered a proprietary lube w/assistance from two major HP oil manufacturers. It rated beyond EP and has an extremely high "Cling" factor to prevent being thrown off at high rpm (typical on brushless apps). |
Why are you going too have a system that can handle a bigmaxximum! Spder 8 diffs!
|
I don't understand your question.

seems to me like someone is overrating the bigmaxximum..

Hi Dale, welcome to the Forum!
If you want a really fast E-Maxx I recomend you a sensorless brushless setup: - BK, Schulze or Quark 125 ESC and - Feigao, Neu, Lehner or Plettenberg motor. |
skip the schulze.
I can give you 12 reasons why NOT to buy schulze.. (and the number of reasons is growing) The guy has got a setup, why advice him another one? |

I am sorry about my advice but I began with a HV-Maxx (it was the 6.5...) and after reading a lot of posts in this forum I finnally went to a sensorless brushless setup. I was surprised with the BIG difference, now I think sensored is for crawling.... But sorry again, I don't want to mess anybody. :010: BTW, happy birthday Dale! |
this are my reasons for not liking schulze.. None of them was replaced under warrantee..
It's not true that the schulze is smoother than the quarks. There is nothing smoother available (the MGM and mamba-maxx are smooth too) the 9920 with the 7XL was smoother than my schulze bigmaxx combo for reasons i explained before. the schulze is a smooth controller, but it's not better in smoothyness than the quark, that's simple not true. another VERY annoying thing about the schulzes is their reverse wait time.. Great... 2 seconds before they go into reverse.. and their service is crap/hilarious... I sent back a receiver to them, 1 channel didn't work.. the thing was 9 months old.. needed to pay 20 bucks for repair.. Warrantee? i don't think so.. That's my experience with schulze. Sorry for being so straight forward. Like i said, schulze is a big nono. If you buy new, stay away from schulze that's my advice to anyone.. |
Sounds just like my experiance with Novak!
|
but atleast novak's customer service is acceptable.... ;)
|
If i had the novak. I would run it for now and get the bugs worked out the truck.
You can step up later. He has it so may as well use it. :D |
Amen.
use it, like it and love the real brushless setups later. |
