If i go nitro it won't stay nitro. It will become a project. Which is not accually
a bad thing. It looks nice. 1/6 scale do you have link to one. Now that sounds
about right. I was looking at a hb 1/7 with the dual nitros. I haven't decided
and really am kind of lost. I don't know what I want. I don't race. I do want
fast. I was thinking of more voltage system to.

Wish I could help ya Leroy.....I have been doing nothing but racing this past year. I may get a brushless 4WD 1/10 buggy for next season though.

coolhandcountry 11.08.2006 01:38 PM

Well you gave me some input chris. You may have helped more than you know.
I was thinking of staying nitro with a twin power setup. It may have close to
the torque of brushless.

neweuser 11.08.2006 02:48 PM

Leroy, I would like to see you attempt another dual BL system.

here is a link to the hb truggy. It is long. Has plenty of room for some batts.
16.5 in wb and 24 in overall. Has any one have experence in this one.

That Hot bodies was one of my choices.. it was either that or the CEN GST 7.7...

get the GST Leroy..... I can take some close up shots of the parts if you really want to see.... it's just plain beefy... with 8S lipos and 2280 it sits at 18.5 Lbs... stock was 17+Lbs.... so it's not bad.. at all... THat HB GTX2 is 1/8 on HB's website, I don't know why Tower has it as 1/7... By the looks of it.. the GST 7.7 Parts looks a whole lot beefier... that's why I bought another gst 7.7(from ebay, Jenny's RC Sport, piece by piece) or you can guy a new one and sell the engine for $168, that's what mine went fore).. then you'd only spend $380... then you can sell the pipe, fuel bottle, fuel tank, glow igniter, radio, gear, etc..... that's just my 2 cents.... ;)

GST's 23" length, 18.4" wide, and 15.6" Wheel base... so I guess the GTX2 is a bit longer...

Leroy, and everyone......probably you wont like my idea as it concerns the 1/10 4wd category..
Why dont you wait untill Tamiya release their ultimate 4wd buggy?
It is the TRF501X and so far, it is the best thing I've ever encountered in the 1/10 4wd buggy world. The only thing that might challenge it in terms of look and quality is the MR4-BX by Yokomo.
Right, they're super pricy, but they are of the same quality of a well dialled 1/8 buggy. You need saddle pack with this thing, but you can always solve the trouble.
I'm planning for one, despite the reactions you might express towards it.

captain harlock 11.08.2006 04:05 PM

And one other thing you might want to consider is the HPI 1/6 Baja buggy- I dont recall the exact name.

aqwut 11.08.2006 07:17 PM

what about the duratrax firehammer MT 1/5?

coolhandcountry 11.08.2006 08:08 PM

I like the hpi baja much more than firehammer. I was thinking of one of them or a fg monster truck. If I go that route. It will remain gas powered until problems
accure. Gee So many choices. Any one have the size of a xlb buggy. They
look big. Maybe be a good thing to play with. I not real crazy about the
other buggies. But this one is bigger.

aqwut 11.08.2006 09:53 PM

I would get the XLB also....... it's 4wd.. those 5th scales are only rear.... though it's enough traction... 4x4 is still better... IMO..

cemetery gates 11.08.2006 09:57 PM

if you do go the 1/5 scale route, get the hpi 5b.

i have seen and felt both the hpi 5b and many FG 1/5 scales and can tell you that the hpi is much nicer.....

Bye:018:

aqwut 11.11.2006 09:46 AM

Hey CoolHand....

Do up an FG or a 5B... The pictures don't really show you what they look like... the 5b is Just F*cking huge and more to scale than the FG... I'm picking up an FG before the end of the year.... Used of course.. but all aluminum, and 4 wheel Disc Brakes.... it will be a nice brushless.... maybe a 3060 is gonna go into it... the engine on the fg uses 7mm shaft..... but pretty sure sdp-si would have some pinions.... it just looks awesome in real life...

coolhandcountry 11.11.2006 04:50 PM

I will check it out. Thanks for all suggestions. Let me know if you find any thing else.

squeeforever 11.11.2006 07:42 PM

Leroy, I would go for the GTX2 or LSP if I were you. The GTX2 is only a LSP with a few changes...The front and rear end are almost idenetical except for the fact that the GTX uses 8 shocks...
