Wow, cool, it only makes sense making the heatsink come the sides of the esc. I can't however, as much as i would like to, oh well, im sure it will never thermal, as hard as i would push the system. Not that i would push it that hard anyways, but like you said, it's just a good feeling knowing nothing will ever happen. Plus i bought the 540C 7xl, so the motor HS should add more peace of mind too. My truck will weight 9 lbs now, and 7.5 lbs with 1/8 tires on it. :017:

You might have been thinking of me. I did the mod on the Quark and I have a heat sink on the bottom. My Quark is mounted upside down btw. It works very well like this. I have the front window cut out on the body and air runs right across the fins of the h/s.

Sorry, I forgot about you Cartwheels.

Nice heatsink, looks like a few fins are bent :028:
Is that lexan hole for a fan, over top of the motor? Hey! Those 1/8 Badland tires, how do you like those? I really want ot get a set of those. How are they for traction, and is the wearing good? Also, what about ballooning, is it a problem? |
Not to worry! I wonder if there are any others besides you, me and Smertzhog that have done that mod.
I really like the Quark 125 for 1/8. It is a very smooth controller. I wish it were easier to program, but it isn't to bad. I just got another one for the Jammin CRT I'm working on. Eventually I'm sure I will end up modding that one too! I want to make sure it works first though. |

The Badland tires I only use in dirt. They have great traction and seem to were well. No ballooning either. With the power of brushless you can really tear up the dirt. The only bad thing I can think of is that sometimes it's too much traction and you get traction rolls and even that isn't to bad, other than that they are great. |
