Eh...I'm not the kind of person to spend 25 bucks on a temp gun...
Ok...good to know MM...I did try getting the motor wet and it didn't sizzle or anything, so its below 200. I guess its ok. |

Water boils at 212 deg. F, so with the water method you have about 12 deg. margin of error.

$25 is cheaper than the motor would cost to replace.
Did you try to drop another tooth on pinion? |
By water drop, I wet my finger, and touched the motor can. I did not do the pinion. I will try that - thanks.
Maybe one of these days I'll just run it, bring it in real quick and touch my temp probe to it and figure that it cooled about 10-15 degrees during the time it took me to do it. |
