Green; something like this?
I decided to go 2 speed.. I liked that about my first BL savage with the plettenberg bigmaxx. the 2 speed puts the Grrr in Swinger.. I got all the stuff here to make a centerdiff savage.. Got the right length bones, a proper centerdiff... I've got another savage conversion in my mind with a centerdiff. it will be a savage-truggy covnersion.. working on the suspension geometry at this moment. the shocks are placed too far to the wheels. |
Hey rene.
I didn't notice it was mounted to thefront of motor. I thought just the ring held it. That is phat bro. Could you hook your american bro up with one? I am leaning to a new savage conversion. I am not going into alot of detail. I plan to go 3 speed. Mechincacl brake. And a few other fancies. |

I third the center diff instead of the transmission. The savage transmission is really heavy and bulky...

When I assembled my Savage (the guy I got it from broke it down), I got all of the tranny parts together and thought, "There's no way in Hell I'll use this thing!" With all of those metal gears and things, it's just a waste (IMO).

Motor Mount
http://www.rc-monster.com/forum/atta...8&d=1168801609
I would like to remake this motor mount, but I don't find a 'L' piece of aluminum or carbon. The only thing I have found is a 'L' of galvanized sheet, but I don't know if it could be ok for a motor mount, because if I put the motor on this galvanized sheet, I see that this is magnetic with the motor. Can I use it? Or what can I use in alternative? |
Serum,
That looks sweet. That mount is exactly what I was looking for when I did mine...Low CG. I will be keeping an eye on this thread. John |

Hi,
first post but saw that you have gone for some carbon fibre hinge pins. I found that mine wore out and snapped within several tanks. Lunsford titanium are awesome , Not as light as C/F but lighter than stock buy about 40% Integy rear tie rod eliminators will allso take off about 60 grammes. Could you tell me more about your centre diff mod or link me to some pics. Many thanks. P.s. The BL stuff on here for a savage is wicked. |
Welcome to the forum.
I don't know what you used for cf? It now has the integy things on it. But you can't set any toe in or out.. It's just fixed. Check the cdsavage on my picasa website, the pics are there. |
Thanks for the reply, serum.
I used JDcarbon hinge pins. They were like a large piece of pencil lead. lol |
they should be pretty tough, i got some fiber enriched 4mm cf from a local kite store here.

Toyed with kites for a while . Stunt , power, traction , surf.
Now you have mentioned that you got your 4mm hinge pins from a kite shop. Don't know why i didn't think of that myself. The structure is completely different from the jdcarbon pins. I'm sure you'll have more luck with your pins than i had with mine. |
