There have already been folks over on rccrawler.com that have converted the WK to 4WD. The inner axles are the main part holding up the conversion process for many folks. Some have gotten around it by using custom dogbones or buying 2 kits to scavenge the rear axles.

there is an article in this month's rc driver showing exactly what parts to order and how to do the conversion, no need to buy two kits

I recently received my parts from tower to convert mine to 4wd. I bought everything but the bearings from tower and got the bearings on eBay. It cost me about $53 for the parts necessary to convert it. Although, that was with a $10 off $50 order code from tower.

So how are you liking your WK skellyo? I was thinking of getting one to mess around with in the snow/dirt.

skellyo 02.15.2007 11:07 AM

To be honest with you, I haven't driven it yet. When I bought it, I pulled out the stock radio, ESC and motor to be replaced. I've put a new brushed motor in there, new ESC and new Rx, but haven't driven it since I've been waiting on the 4WD parts. At one time I was thinking of going brushless in it, but with it not having a slipper, it's not such a good idea. Hopefully this weekend I can take it out in 4WD form and see how it does.

Sylvester 02.15.2007 11:44 AM

Ok. Let us know how she goes, even if i were to get one, it wouldnt be BL anyway.

skellyo 02.17.2007 07:27 PM

Ok, so I took out my new WK today in its 4WD form. I'm running the stock steering servo, a Novak XRS ESC, Venom 21T motor (nice and cheap), IB3800 stick pack and stock gearing. It's not going to break any land speed records, but it's a pretty fun little truck. It's got a very high CG and is stupid easy to rollover as you'll see in my videos. So, anyhow, on to the videos...

Yep! that's a wheelie king for sure! it needs a wider stand.. i think with a bigger motor, a (bit) lower CG it would make backflips and frontflips with ease..

Sylvester 02.17.2007 09:34 PM

Looks like fun! Id second what Serum said, would be a funner basher for sure!

jnev 02.18.2007 12:06 AM

That id what I like to call the king of wheelies, lol. Looks fun. It would be so cool to install rear steering and steering onto the wheels on the wheelie bar, so you can steer while doing a wheelie.

skellyo 02.18.2007 12:12 AM

Surprisingly, it tracks very straight while wheelying (is that a word?!?). It's so different than anything else I have because you have to really be on your toes to keep it from just barrel rolling every time you want to turn it.

Serum 02.18.2007 04:29 AM

That's why i would make it wider. tipping over is uncool..

yeah it really does what its name says!
