I disagree :004:. If you drill out three of the slipper peg holes in the MGT spur (in a triangular pattern) to 5mm, and drill the center hole to 10mm, you can mount MGT spurs to the Revo slipper clutch if you use a 5x10mm bearing in the gear and washers under the screws holding the gear on. It's a tight fit onto the Revo slipper clutch, but it fits. This is a great way to get a 52t mod1 spur onto a Revo slipper clutch :027:. And best of all, the gear is only $3.50.

Yes & No MM.

The holes do line up with the 3.3 slipper pressure plate and can be drilled to fit. The center hole however is not 10mm and the size must be just right for a mild interference fit for the 5x11 bearing. It must also be on center to prevent excessive run-out which would make setting pinion/spur mesh a nightmare.

I know the bearing hole isn't 10mm, I said if you drill it to 10mm you could use a 5x10mm bearing in the spur. The hole is almost 10mm though, so minimal drilling is required, decreasing the chances of the hole being drilled off-center.

I did this with the custom slipper clutch setup for my X-Terminator 1/8 buggy (Revo slipper clutch + MGT spur) so I know it works.

Fair enough!

Nice Hank!!

very nice!

The gmaxx mount may be a non-fit with these. It's close with the strobe already, the point is that the gmaxx mount sits on the other side (not on the gearbox) so the slipper sits between the tranny and the mount.

Like i said a thin strobe slipper is a tight fit; i am pretty possitive that this will be too thick. Not to worry, who uses a gmaxx mount nowadays? Can't do the measurements for you right now, i am off to work..

Great work Hank, this gives us some room to play with gearing.

Procharged5.0 01.25.2007 02:59 AM

Thanks for the compliments Rene! If you would be so kind and measure the mount on the g-maxx I would appreciate it. Perhaps I can accommodate the spacing. If not, I'll probably shorten the input "snout" slightly for typical installs.

GorillaMaxx360 01.25.2007 08:55 AM

so is this basically the same setup used on the slipperential (the slippersetup at least). so i can use revo spurs and the pressure plates and all those revo slipper, spur items

Procharged5.0 01.25.2007 10:36 AM

YES! That's part of the beauty of it.

I'll be looking into alternate material for the "friction pucks" to fine tune slipper action. For now the standard Traxxas pucks have proved to work very well.

Nice job Hank. Is the top shaft longer to fit the Revo slipper?

Procharged5.0 01.29.2007 12:32 PM

Not necessarily longer, but a larger diameter, and appropriate length, and drilled to accept the slipper.

Stronger & more capable!

neweuser 01.29.2007 12:40 PM

What is the diameter of the new shaft?

Procharged5.0 01.29.2007 12:52 PM

Roughly 4.97mm or .196"
