By the way, the CRT .5 on Horizon and Tower have the same part number.

Horizon usually sets it up for their "street price" once it goes up on their site (though in alot of cases its more expensive).

Tower usually puts it up for full retail, and then drops it down once they receive it. Tower basically wants to rip off anyone who backorders one.

From what I have found out so far about the Jammin.5 is that there is going to be three versions available.

1. Pro assembled - no motor, CNC aluminum towers, threaded shocks, Proline tires, bearings, and universals. pn: 34970
2. Pro w/Picco .12 same as 1 but with motor and no electronics pn: 34971
3. RTR - Picco .12, plastic shock towers, plastic body shocks, Ofna tires. pn: 34972

They are actually going to be available in that order as well.

I have a Pro on order with my LHS and plan on putting a MM and 5700 with 2-cell lipo. I am still trying to find out about the gear pitch of the center diff.

glassdoctor 03.05.2007 11:28 AM

Common pitch for some 1/10 gas stuff is 32p... that would be great if they do that....

venom813 03.05.2007 11:31 AM

The thing is, I don't think any Ofna product uses 32p. Correct me if I am wrong.

skellyo 03.05.2007 11:43 AM

Does anyone have any length dimensions on the CRT .5? I can't seem to find them. However, I did find an online retailer with them in stock. :)

Maybe they use Mod.8 on their smaller cars.

It's the Losi/AEs that use 32p for 1/10 trucks.

I think mod.8 and 32p are very close... anyone know if they can work together without too much noise and wear?

They are VERY close. I'm using the stock Mod 0.8 spur and a 32p pinion on my Jato and have practically no wear and it's been dozens of batt packs worth of runtime.

For reference, 32p is Mod 0.79375. Mod 0.8 is 31.75p. There either is enough play in the gear teeth or manufacturing inconsistency that there isn't a problem.

@skellyo: Which retailer has it in stock? And, is it the RTR version or the pro version with the upgraded goodies?

BP-Revo 03.05.2007 07:42 PM

The only one that is out is the Pro Version thats 80% assembled with all the goodies and no engine or electronics.

I'd like to know this retailer as well :)

BrianG 03.05.2007 07:47 PM

Well, I was asked not to say anything about the retailer, but I will say I ordered mine today! Mwa ha ha ha! :017:

jnev 03.05.2007 10:50 PM

Sounds very cool. All this talk about it make me want to buy one. Maybe after my buggy is finshed and the prices drop a little. :027:

BrianG 03.05.2007 10:55 PM

Well, but the time you do get around to getting one, it sounds like they'll be a few converted already and you can learn from our mistakes. :) Not to mention that you can "borrow" ideas that you like...
