I guess that's true. However, the purple color scheme doesn't match other components I have. I guess I'll just have to get Neus from now on (that must be Mike's scheme to make more money, lol).

I converted an 8ight and used the stock diff. It's the same as that found in the Sportwerks/Losi trucks and buggies. The Kyosho spur will fit with minor modification. Although I do mine on a lathe, I'm sure the you could get by using other means.

What modification did you have to do?
|
I like the purple better, but thats just me. :p

Brian, if you look at the part of the spur where the bearing sits (not the spindle itself, but the part that is wider than the spindle and spaces the bearing), it is about 20/1000ths of an inch too tall. I chuck the spur up in my lathe and turn this down so that the bearing will go down far enough onto the spindle. Then I flip it over and take about 10/1000ths off of the edge of the relief where the diff cup fits into the spur. One of these days, I'm going to get an aluminum diff cup and modify that so that I can do away with the second step. I suppose that you could modify the plastic diff cup with a dremel or something, but doing it on the lathe is so quick that I don't mind doing it.
|
I see, thanks for the tip! You're right, I'd probably use a dremel as I don't have a lathe...

Its probably because it take BK 3 months to get him any motors ans the Feigaos are pretty eay to get and the same motor . They come from the same distributor as the Lehner I think. And he has been waiting for them for months now.
|
I think Mike is going to get the lehners direct from lehner soon? I know he is tired of waiting on bk! (along with his customers!)

it seems that the gearing doesnt differ much with a 51T spur. only 0.5/1 lower from a 46T spur. i may get the xray instead of the 8-t, but i already said that. |
