Yeah i did some reading on lipos earlier tonight and found out that i will have to have the voltage up in the 13's to prevent battery damage. I will play with it to get it to work right. This electric stuff is all new to me but so far i am lloving it more than nitro. Just as much power and speed with out all the mess and noise. cant wait to race my nitro buddies though. LOL. I think i am getting the hang of all the brushless stuff now. Have been doing alot of reading on forums. Still havnt found out about how long a 5000 4s pack will last with moderate driving (meaning some highspeed passes but mostly cruising around) on the 8xl though. Any input?

I'm curious, Orion says you can run their platnum 4800's till they slow down. Before I had a cut off I ran them down in the before mentioned manner and 50 or 60 charges latter they are still fine. I've also checked them with the balancer and only had to balance on two ocassions? Orion doesn't seem to be as concerned about running them low. I wonder what the difference is?
My maxxamps I have to balance every other charge.

I have heard so much about lipos it is not funny. I figure though i will just set the cutoff and balance often just to be safe. I do not want to have to keep buying batteries every run or so. But yeah i wonder why some say one thing and others say another thing?

str8up: My 5000HV lasts around 20 min with a 7XL in a 1/8th buggy.

Well i got everything istalled today and am very disappointed!! I put the leads on the motor and connected my batts and made sure bec was disabled on esc and hit throttle once and poof went the esc. Smoke came barreling out now the esc is dead. I do not understand why it did this. I hooked evrything up right. The bl motor which is the 8xl did not even try to move. So i am now in the procces of trying to get another mm which will be a while because i am out of money. So frustrated dont know if i even want to find another esc.
