In the two qualifying rounds, Keith L (Mid Hudson Hobbies/Fine Design) was the clear winner. He was the ONLY person in any class to get 12 laps (in the 5 min qual round) and he did it with his E-Truggy (I think he may have been running a Losi 8T but I'm not sure.) I took 2nd place in both Qualifing rounds, with my E-CRT and Mike finished 3rd close behind me. The main didn't go so well for either of us. If memory serves, Mike had a pinion set screw come loose, he pulled off, fixed it and went back out to finish the main. I had a flakey deans come loose. The first time I was able to get it going again, when it happened a second time, I called it quits. Keith L checked out and won easily but were it not for our little troubles, Mike and I would have given him a run for it in the main. This was the first time my E-Truggy had been run at all since a major winter rebuild and I gather Mike just completed his too so I know I would much rather this have been a practice day to shake out the weak links rather than a race day. None the less, it was good and I think both Mike and I have very capable race trucks. It should be a great race year.

If this is the same race Mike told me about, his grub screw on the pinion came loose. He was trying out a hardened steel pinion on the steel spur and found that you NEED lock-tite on the grub screw.

Yeah, i read it elsewhere on the forum.

He thought it had something to do with the steel/steel thing, vibrating more than plastic/steel

That Lipo is only 4s. It looks big, I thought it must be 5s. It looks like a MM ESC. What battery pack and motor is he running.

crazyjr 05.07.2007 08:31 PM

Cool truck.

I wouldn't say that rene. My favorite rc is 4s run.

Correct...

If he could keep the weight setup from the nitro in the electric conversion, thats one heck of a truck. I just run my Nitro 8T and there is no words to describe it

AAngel 05.16.2007 11:20 PM

If anyone knows, what gearing was Mike running with that 4S/9XL combo? 4S/9XL is what I've been running on the track with my 8ight T, and it's a killer combo. My gearing is 16/44.

BrianG 05.16.2007 11:24 PM

I believe he was running one of his hardened 16T pinions, if this is the same truck he was running when the grub screw in the pinion came loose...
