Ok, Ok, I get it. I suppose that the 1515 won't draw much more current than the 1512, if I'm not pushing it. I'm just trying as hard as I can to get the right motor the first time. I have so much wasted money into this brushless conversion stuff that I don't want to make any more mistakes.

In fact, I'm not getting the Neu until I can sell my buggy. I just can't keep throwing money at this stuff. My wallet is starting to hurt.

Seriously, I still think you'll be more than happy with the 1512 if you want something better than or equal to a 9XL. I just don't want to be the one that makes you decide to get a 1512 just to find out it wasn't as good as you wanted after all. The 1515 will be even stronger than the 1512, but that doesn't mean you have to use it all - just be gentler on the throttle. :)

Couldn't have said it better. :027:

But for the sake of argument, can someone re-cap for me as I may have missed it: For same truck the 1515 will provied more torque/power, but what is the major advantage of the 1512? :032:

I went from running a 9xl on 5s in my LSP (geared 15/46) to running a 1515 1y (2200kv) on 4s (geared 12-14/46). The power was great from the 9xl, I just felt the need to upgrade to a better motor. (plus the front endball fell off, it was the 540c version) The best way I can explain the difference is like: "Wow, the 9xl on 5s has great power!:018: " to "There's more power?!?!? How!?!?!:032: " You think it's going to lose torque once you get near top speed, but no! It just keeps pulling, like: "Go!Go!Go!Go!Go!Go!Go!Go!Go!Go!Go!Go!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!:mad:1 :mad:1 "

Here is my thread where I decided between the 1515 and 1512 http://www.rc-monster.com/forum/showthread.php?t=5558

Hope this helps!

Bye:018:

+1 vote for the 1515 since it's more versatile than the 1512. Better for all-around use (racing, bashing, etc.) in my opinion.....

However...

If you keep it at race weight I'd vote for thje 1512 with it's "snappier" response. lower weight, and lower power consumption.

cem, thanks for the link.

Pro, I do intend the race the truck, but I do usually run 40 series Moabs when bashing. I might be better off with the 1515 after all. Now I just have to find a 2.5d.

I think you'll be happy with the 1515 AAngel! Let us know how it's running when you get it installed!

AAngel, try www.flydma.com for the Neu motors. I use them a lot for my other RC money wasters, planes and helis.

rc-monster.com is my personal favourite to get the Neu motors from.

Wounded Wallet.. Sounds like a nasty female impurity....

I like RC-Monster also, but he is out of stock.

Geez, I'm kinda tight on cash for the next month or so. Working on the house takes priority (as far as my wife is concerned), so I have to choose between the Neu or a CRT .5. I'm having a hard time making a decision.

Procharged5.0 05.22.2007 02:40 PM

I say go with the NEU and finish that project. Just my .02!

AAngel 05.28.2007 02:24 AM

Well, I went with the Neu. Since Mike's been out of stock on most of the Neus, I went shopping around, and I found a deal on a 1512 1.5Y that I couldn't pass up. I hope it works out.

I just weighed my truck with a the 9XL and heatsink and a 4S2P 8Ah pack and it came in at 10lbs. 6oz. Getting rid of the 9XL and associated heatsink and perhaps being able to go to a 6Ah pack, I should be able to bring the total weight down below 10lbs.

So...does anyone know what a good 35mph gearing would be for my 8ight T with the 1512 1.5Y?
