I gree with this too. I think the XL motors ar way overkill in a buggy. I just started playing with a 1930 as well and first impressions after only a couple runs are I like it much better than the very long can motors. (EDIT: In my buggy)

I have a low kv Feigao L size on the way that I want to try out. I feel like the lower KV XL motors need to be geared to the moon to run well in a smaller truck like a buggy. Without enough load it just runs hot.

OK, so I'll increase the gearing until the temps come down. Since the Feigaos are more sensitive to gearing are you saying that I could miss the sweetspot by going up two teeth rather than just one? I only have pinions in even counts. Right now, I have 10-16, with an 18 coming in.

looks good. from the video it appears to be very similar in performance to my nue 1521 1y (1577kv) when geared 18/44. Ialso like the lower kv setups. I have a 1512 3d that I plan on trying out in my buggy as soon as my esc gets back from castle.

It will still get hot.... Just not as fast or as hot. Did you temp it? How was the ESC temp?

+1. As you gear up, the motor will probably get cooler, but the ESC temp will start to rise...

Nah, as I gear up, the esc gets hotter, but the motor still gets hot. Temps with the heat index have been over 100 where I am. I can't see gearing my 9XL any more than I have already. It's just about too fast for the track now geared 16/46.

I've about given up on the Feigaos. Even Mike told me that he's cooked Feigaos in under 15 minutes.

I was at the track yesterday with my 9XL revo (14 cells) and it too got hot after about 12-13 minutes. It worked out ok though, because I'd run down a GP3300 pack, let the motor cool for about 10-15 minutes while going into the store so I could cool down too (about mid 90's here too), then run the next pack while charging the first.
