The battery block is on the right side. It's slightly out of balance to the front right corner by 3.25 ounces (1.7% of total 11lbs 10ounces). The rear is off balance to the right side by .3 ounces (.16% of total 11lbs 10ounces). LF 2lbs 4.74ounces ----------- RF 2lbs 8.01ounces LR 3lbs 6.8ounces ------------ RR 3lbs 7.1ounces The (14) brick is about 880g. 4S MaxAmps 10Ah pack is 820g, the 8Ah is only 725g. So it may actually get you fairly close to being balanced. Here's a pic so you can sort of see the layout. The battery tray is over there where the tank and receiver box use to be. http://i128.photobucket.com/albums/p...eteE-Revo4.jpg |
Thanks for the info, Cajun.
So with the MM esc and the 4s2p Lipo I need to run a Ubec and disable the MM bec,and I can run the radio/servos through the Ubec correct? |
That is correct Pliska.

I have decided to get the Superbrain 989 charger, but im not sure what cell balancer to get? what do you guys use?
All together I am at around 900ish dollars(us)(ouch) for this conversion, but I will be Bl Lipo powered with a good charger/balancer setup. I need to upgrade the steering servo and am getting some new shoes for it. Once I get the BL setup going I will be upgrading to 1/8 diffs, cvds,Rpm carriers and Getting a Dx3 Radio. |
Any capable balancer works. Some, like the LBA10 have extra features that may be nice like auto-shutoff, optional communication with a Hyperion charger, capability to network two for balancing larger packs (up to 12s).
I use the LBA10 and a Common Sense RC Balancer, but find myself using the Common Sense one more often since it is simpler to use and hook up. |
I use the 989 and LBA10 together, and they work perfectly. However, I have nothing to compare it to, since it is my first balancer and first lipo charger. But they both are working great as far as I can tell. No problems with it what so ever.

E Revo is still in the plans. Just no money for it right now. Doing Plenty of research as to what im going to buy and how im going to set it up. Will post updates. I have decieded on the LBA10 balancer
As for the Ubec I was thinking about buying http://cgi.ebay.com/3A-External-Swit...QQcmdZViewItem since I will never go over 5s with this buildup and it outputs 6V, This bec will work right? seems alot less expensive than the one from mike. |
It should work just fine.

Personally, if you want a good BEC at a good price, get the CCBEC.
|
And failing that, the Koolflight BEC works great and stays cool even under heavy loads (and tested well). The cheaper ones of the same current capability are usually based on the same circuitry as the KF one, but they don't out out exactly the rated voltage and tend to heat up more under heavier loads specifically due to their smaller size.

Thought I'd post a follow up to the single battery part of the thread. I finally got some pictures over the weekend of a couple of good jumps. As you can see, she flies pretty level. :mdr: Normally the only weirdness that happens in the air is caused by operator error.
