Sweet! Cant wait to see it. |
You will be surprised!
I've seen it, and it's amazing.. |
I ran at the track Fri night. They redid the track that afternoon, and its a killer. Very very fast, with a huge triple on a straightaway. The bugges and truggies running there were flying. All the track regulars loved the track and said how fast and agressive it was.The soil is also nice and soft and slightly wet. Should be an awesome day of racing. There is one other long strait w/ a low jump, so if done right you fly over a low section across the middle and land on the down side of the landing slope. If done poorly or slowly, you nose dive into the landing jump. Lots of spd will be needed on this track it seems.
For me (and prolly several others, hopefully:lol:) the trick will be not to wreck the car before the end of the race (or even qualifying.) After some very ugly attempts at the triple and some other big jumps, i decided my best strat will be to just go slower and not break it. My basher Revo w/ me at the wheel cannot keep up w/ the high flying uggies. I'm not a racer, so should be a very interesting day of driving (helluva lot of fun while it lasts tho.) |
Have fun everybody. Don't forget to take lots of pictures.
|
I think it's going to be a little lonely here today.
|
You got it Brian, lonely!

I'd just like to be first to congratulate Mike on an awesome event. :great:Well done. The morning started with a little rain, but it cleared up about the time the racing was supposed to start and the rest of the day was perfect.
I think everyone who showed up had a great time. I have never seen so many brushless conversions running at the same time. It was nuts. Some VERY fast trucks and buggies. The track was in great shape and was really fast (not me though:tongue:). Crazy HUGE tripple right in the middle of the long straight. Great layout. The day went so quick that by the end I realized I completely forgot to use my camera. Not a single picture. But a bunch of others took allot of pictures (video too) so hopefully some of them will post up some of the photos. Especially great to meet all of you who showed up. I can tell you that I for one had a most excellent time. EDIT: Funny thing is not a single person looked like I pictured them.(Rene didnt even have his anteater costume.) |
Good to hear you enjoyed it. Looking forward for all the pictures.

Spread the BL message to all :) |
nice video, looks like you guys had a good weekend.
|
Nice video's like I mentioned before.
Out of curiosity, were there enough CRT.5's to make a class of their own? I think that would have been very fun race to watch (and drive). All the little trucks would just get destroyed over that triple jump. |

I was at RCX (with MetalMan, since he lives like 5 min from me) and all day they had 1/8 scale buggies, truggies, and some MT's running on a track they had set up. They had a huge kicker jump and some were getting 30+ feet of air, all the while doing backflips or front flips. OFNA took the CRT .5 out on the track when it was their turn on the track (Manufacturers switched off demoing their vehicles), and the .5 was actually running down, passing, and pulling away from the 1/8 scale buggies, and was doing its own share of sky high jumps without breaking a sweat. Its a tougher truck than one would think... |
I actually was at RCX as well. The CRT.5 did do well, but I thought it got bounced around a little more than a car usually would. I didn't see it go off the big kicker though unfortunately...
We'll have to organize that SoCal bash sometime and get all the BL cars running together somewhere. I'd really like to see your CRT.5 run. By the looks of your set up, it should rip. You need to get it all dialed in and get us a video. |
FYI
This year's bash will be held on Sunday, September 28th. RCDriver will attend and cover the race this year as well! More details will follow as we get closer, but I would expect this year's bash to be the best one yet - more conversions are out there, and the brushless segment o fhte hobby is really taking off. I will be practicing in the meantime. :) |
great news , i may make it this year now that my xt8 is done
