I was just driving my original RC10 and something happened, locked in full throttle and went head on into a car tire. Chassis is in the shape of a U now. Probably the "vintage" Futaba Magnum AM. Here's a pic of it just before the wreck with a duratrash body.

Looks good cann we get a couple of topless shots ?. Of the car of corse  That bites about the damage.

Two pics of the top off and stripped, good thing about aluminum is it bends easily back into place. My great job of chassis lightening isn't good for strength though.

That probably did weeken the chassis some. I saw one on ebay today, the guy wanted $325.00 for a used one.

I have a bunch more pictures of cars but that was waaaaaay before digital. Had a Kyosho Big Brute, Hornet, Yokomo Dogfighter, Tamiya F-1, RC10L.Ever hear of the Spirit FF? It was front wheel drive and total crap as far as strength goes, but my favorite was a Tamiya 1/12th Toyota Celica rally car. That thing was so fun to drive.

I've heard of all of them except the last one.

I have a Tamyia Hornet, it was my first RC, I got it for my 7th birthday I think back in 1985, it's not quite in original mint condition now though, I carried out some minor modifications to it back in 1992

I'm pretty sure I have an extra chassis for that car in a box in my basement. PM me if you're interested. If I remember right, it's in exc condition.

Thats from 91 or 92 right ?.

dabid 09.22.2007 10:13 PM

The oldest car I have is my old RC10T2 with the black alum. tub chassis......don't think that truck is more than 12 years old though, so I don't know that it counts as vintage.
