All I can say is good luck, and hope it works well for you. The biggest problem I see with this car are replacement parts...

Yes replacement parts would be a big issue even thought it's cheap won't do you any good having it sit there broken.

You said it was a pretty good copy of the kyosho 777, do you think any parts would fit? I like the bronze anodized stuff.
I bought one last week, I should see it any day now (Im hoping). The parts look pretty beefy and Im not very hard on my trucks, so I shouldnt have to worry about replacement parts. If I break something, Ill just have to make the wrong parts fit like I have with all my other rc vehicles. Ill be dropping a 7xl on 4s in this thing, then later maybe going to my 5s pack and getting a 9xl.

I'm not worried about parts...
 

First off I bought 2 of these, second I am sure I can find something to fit, third I drop $100 everytime I walk into a hobby shop - I feel like I am already money ahead. :lol:

Time will tell, I will dedicate an area on my site to the Yusa buggy for those that scored one this deal.

I am working with RC-Monster to figure out which of their mounts will fit for the brushless conversions.

Well i was one of people to buy one of these Yusa buggies and so far so good. I can tell you that the Kyosho spur gears to fit with a little modification and that the Kyosho motor mount that mike sells fits perfectly on this buggy with the exception of the brace on the top. It does not line up with all 4 screws but 2 of them do so you atleast have some support. I don't think it will be hard to make my own mount out of a small peice of aluminum. I mounted up a Feigao 10L with my electronics from my LSP and took it out for a test run and so far i am very pleased it seems pretty solid. The buggy to me seems to resemble a Kyosho inferno a lot so i don't think getting parts will be all that hard, if i'm wrong on this someone please correct me.

So far it has a 7XL on 4S 5Ah Maxamps lipo, geared 18/46. I used the Kyosho motor mount that mike sells. The batteries are mounted with associated cups to a sheet of lexan that is bolted to the chassis. The body is a trinity wasp made for a mp7.5, and the tires are proline badlands on panther dish wheels. Ill let you guys know how it drives when I have a chance to do that.

Okay i have finished mine too. Well i will be changing one more thing. I am going to add a HB LSP center diff as soon as it is shipped to me. Let me know what you think.

Why the LSP diff? Do you have the same front to rear slop in the center diff I do? It seems like the kyosho motor mount leaves some extra space for the center diff to slide back and forth on its bearings.

That is exactly why. I tried the center diff from my LSP and it worked a lot better. It's a pretty cheap fix.

So today I drove it for the first time, and I already broke it. I was driving around my backyard and a birdfeeder pole got in the way at about 30mph. It snapped the front inner suspension arm mount at one of its mounting holes. This a relatively simple part, so I cut a new one out of a sheet of aluminum. The one I broke is plastic, so hopefully this one will hold up if I repeat todays incident. I forgot to get pics of the wreckage, but heres some of the new arm mount going in, and a pic of my first mod to this buggy, the color matching offset hubs.

I also have an LSP center diff in the mail. Thanks for that idea, Mike D. These have 50t spurs correct? Did you have to dremel the chassis at all to clear the extra diameter?

No i did not have to, i am using the Kyosho 46 tooth plastic spur gear.

Mike_D, that body you're using, it's a Proline Crowd Pleaser for Hyper 8, with Racing Finish Metallic Blue, isn't it? I have that same (or VERY similar) body on my Hyper 8 with metallic blue fading to black.

Metalman, you have a very good eye (no pun intended). I went with that body just because i like the way it looks on the hyper 8 so i bought it and just cut it to fit the Yusa, it works. I always go with a solid color because i suck at painting and my bodies don't usually last me long enough to put in much of an effort to try and do a good paint job.
