Speed depends upon the gearing.
Polyquest are good packs. The charge guard thing isn't as necessary as the low voltage cutoff. |
i was reading back through here and was wondering if anyone was running a 3s on the 6s motor? i am considering getting one from tower unless someone can recomend a cheaper place
|
i forgot to ask...is the 3s pack going to fry my 6s motor? if so, what is one that can take the power and will push my t4 to 60+ ?
thanks |
The 3s will be quite a load on the Feigao 6s. Also, because of the high voltage, the amp draw will go up, so that will make the motor get hotter, and it would definately get the speed control hot. It would surely take your T4 to or past 60mph. Also, you would have to make sure that any Lipo batteries you get can handle the amp draw. I estimate that at full throttle (loaded), the motor will spin at around 63,000 RPM. That is considerably higher than the motor's rated limit of 50,000 RPM.

so that puts me back down to the 2s in order to keep from cooking the motor....my thing is i really want to push 60+
right now i am pulling 43 on 6 matched cells carrying a gps and running 31/115 gearing. |
If you want to push your T4 to those speeds, the best thing to do is get a slower motor and then use more voltage. Then overgear it.
|
hope that you have a wide open space to run it as you will be going 88 feet a second. I am curious why the "need for speed" with a stadium truck?
|
a slower motor?? ok, well a 3s pack is as high as i want to go cuz i dont want to buy another new charger. so lets say i get a 3200 or 4000mah 3s pack. what is a motor that will handle that when hooked to the mgm80 (which by the way, i want to get the new computer programable one when its released)? like i said, i am getting 43 while carrying a gps, so that should put me really into the 45-46 range. i have a few more things to do to drop weight and to drop rotating mass, which should give me 1-2 more mph easy, so basically i am right around 48mph on 31/115 gearing. i really want to stay around that ratio and still be able to push up over 60. so with that i ask, what motor would handle a 3s pack and get me to 60?
thanks |
The lehner Basic 4200 will do the job.. Or an XL4200, that would be pushing your truck thru the sound barrier.. The basic 4200 would be a nice alternative, longer runtime, milder on your drivetrain and it will get a better lifespan from your lipoly's..
The Kokams/FMA's from towers are about the cheapest available Let me tell you; a 60 mph rc car is nice to tell colegues and friends, but it's not too nice to drive it constant.. (rather stressing) and you need much space to drive it. You could always get a 6 or 7 pack of normal nimh's to drive it around at a more relaxing speed, but still fast.. My statement is 'better have the power than need the power..' |
well, my stadium truck is extremely highly modified. i have many custom designed and made parts on it and this one has been redesigned to be street use only. its slammed to the ground with custom designed cf shock towers and soon a custom drop kit so i can puarms back to being level. the steeringis custom and about to be redesigned to be even more custom, more adjustable, lighter, and quicker. this is already an extreme truck and i want to pull some extreme speeds.
i do have about 6 really nice matched and zapped 6cell packs that push the truck to about 45-46 ( gps says 43, but that includes the weight of gps). i just want to get something that I can pop in and do a killer speed run. so i can go 2s and should get near 55 with the 6s motor or i can go for the 3s and a new lehner 4200 and get 60ish. is there something that would be faster than the 4200 on a 3s pack? thanks |
Ya, a 5300 on a 3s pack would be faster. That would be ~55,000RPM, which the motor is rated to handle. But that would be for speed runs.
|
The new Lehner Wanderer motors are nice as well..
My guess is you won't be dissapointed with an XL 4200 (it is a killer on 3S) the 4200 allready is fast though.. (and light) the XL 3600 can push an emaxx around at very high speed |
what about the lehner 2100?
|
That would be good for 6s Lipo. 3s Lipo really wouldn't be enough.
|
alright, so if i sell my pimped out tc3, then i will either be going with the 2s and current system or the 3s and either the 4200 or 5300....
thanks |
