Im still running a Team CheckPoint 9T in my T4 that I race On-road. Im not about to replace a 150.00 ESC and a 70.00 motor that wins me races. If it comes to the point that I cant turn it anymore Ill defiantly go BL. I wont miss my com lathe one bit.

heh I like that serum, my dremel stylus stopped working yesterday, I took it apart and found a speed 400 with ESC on the end and a dead 2 cell LIon in the handle, that was my last brushed motor in use, it worked a couple of months ago.

I couldn't help thinking that I have a Mega 16/15/3 CC pheonix 10 and 3s 1000 LiPo that would fit in there but the shaft is too big and I need a servo tester to run the ESC, anyone know of a tiny servo tester to put inside? I don't really want to dangle one on a lead.

Brushed motors

We still have brushed motors in my two girls' Tamiya Dark Impact buggies. But the only reason is to keep the speed to a managable level so they don't smash them up!

You could hack up a servo tester module and mount it directly on the dremel itself. That would make a great combo for a dremel.

Shaft too big? make an adapter!

Nice!

Hey SSSconcepts how does that 4.5 HV work with your setup? I am building one identical to the FLM Maxx that you have and I was thinking about getting it for mine? Maybe you can share some pointers from your project? Nice truck and good work.

LOL...I just posted on another thread...check the "New Posts."

I was very happy with...it was fast and I never had any thermal issues...just make sure you follow the gearing instructions (I used 72T spur and 18T pinion).

I have recently swithched over to Quark/Neu 1515 and MGM/Neu combos in both my FLM Maxxs....much better performance but ouch it was expensive!

My FLM Maxx dual mamba set up is now gone off to ebay (ESCs and motors)...and believe it or not it was the fastest out of everything I have tried...the motors would get hot (but no more than 3S/Mamba 5700 in my Losi XXXT. Damn truck would do standing back flips! It reminded me of my RC18T with mamba 8000kv:smile:

BTW...save yourself the trouble of replacing Diffs down the road...buy hybrid bulks and 1/8 scale diffs from the get go. Make sure you get the 43T ring gears and 13T diff pinions.

If you can find a single speed tranny with metal idler gear and a Strobe Slipper w/Mod 1 pitch gears, get those too.

Cool Stuff.

I still like having reverse in mine for play time, and I have custom titanium gears in the aluminum transmissions with the steel idlers. I still have to work out the diffs yet, but for now I have the Maxximizers intsalled and I am about to purchase the UE axles as well for the added strength:whip:.

Like you I to have the MGM and Quark ESC's on my Xmas list, but that is in the hands of Santa Claus for the moment:angel:. So I have to take it slow. I am working on four different ext Maxx trucks trying to get them all up to par. Waiting on some new stuff to come in to complete them the way that I want. I have 1 = all UE, 1 = all FLM, 1 = Hardcore setup, and one with the Dynomite double battery tray chassis. I just received 2 pair of Maxxamp lipos to get the fun started:party:, but I am new to that aspect, so I have much to learn (charging) so I don't fry the lipos before I get to enjoy them. I have two UE ss and 333in servos to keep the tracking right on two of the vehicles as well. Still much work to do though. Seeing trucks like yours is an inspiration.

My Tamiya M03 Mini Cooper is still brushed, and a 19t gets it moving pretty good. My brother did have a MM5700 combo in his for a while, but it was too much, and he couldn't use the power. Other than that, my TLT scaler, TA05, and.........well, that's all I can think of, but those are my cars still running brushed.
