i like the big tires that the muggy has would those work on the 8ight?

If you want that look, go with a muggy conversion. You can probably make the 20mm hubs work with an 8t (anything is possible I guess), but you would be adding back a lot of the weight difference between the muggy and 8t.

From what I've heard from the Nitro Losi guys, the muggy's main problem comes from the nitro clutch. Otherwise, it seems to hold up nicely. Should be a real nice conversion to electric.

If you are looking for a solid off road basher, I would go with the Revo or LST2. The Revo has a center diff conversion and both tranny's on either truck will hold up to brushless fine. The chassis on buggies and truggies will become a downfall when really pushing it off road bashing. Buggies and truggies are great track cars and okay bashers. The Revo and LST2 are both great bashers and do well on the track too, especially the revo. My revo has taken everything I have thrown at it in stride and is night and day when compared to a t or emaxx.

I would like to know why a truggys chassis is its down fall?

Ya me too? Does the links break or something? The revo look like a great truck. But It takes some skill to make a clean conversion.

Mt's usually have more ground clearance in the center than they do at the front and rear, so it makes it easier to drive over stuff like rocks, curbs and other obstacles. Truggies, buggies and a lot of MT racing chassis's are flat underneath and can get stuck easier when driving over obstacles.
