Ye toby i would like to know about the dimension of the motor mount too.

toby 09.02.2005 04:33 PM

Dear Serum,

I can do the battery trays By My Self, i do not know how tall or anything the motorplate needs to be or where the holes need to be or any of that. That is why i might be annoying to you but really i have no idea what i am suppose to do. Do you need special TVP to do this project? I do not even have a GP3300 or bigger in my house so i do not even know how wide to make it. I do not have the motor or speed control, i do not know where to mount the control.

I have NO idea how the batteries stay still or even how to make a pack. i am learning all these things and am willing to make the parts myself and i would like some help on it. I saw plans for a motorplate in another thread, would that one work good or not? I am 14 years old and do not have 200 dollars to get something and it not work right.

I am just curious and would like some help and dimension. do i use aluminum or cast iron, or another type of steal? I have no idea what to do that is why i am asking so many questions

Serum 09.02.2005 04:42 PM

Sorry Toby, i understand your situation, you are not irritating me, please don't get me wrong!

But i could draw a motorplate, BUT.. it's a emachineshop file, and they

Wait up.. I am going to draw right away..

Rcbros 09.02.2005 04:49 PM

Dang Serum didn't realize how much custom items you have done.

Are you using emachineshop?

toby 09.02.2005 04:50 PM

what is emachine shop?

Serum 09.02.2005 05:07 PM

Yeah!

that's the best software available imo.. (its rather easy to understand)

Serum 09.02.2005 05:14 PM

I made my avatar with it as well (savage diffcup)

I forgot i had a computer crash, i lost all my drawings, but Mike should have got my motormount, i will send him an email..

Toby, the best thing you can do is make the motormount so it fits underneath the spur. (lowest CG) with the drawing Motofax made, it is done rather easy (the best way imo)

@rcbross;

I got a nice project cooking at this moment.. It involves the words, savage, and a horizontal frame, and a centerdiff instead of the TVP's..

toby 09.02.2005 05:20 PM

do i just make that exact motor mount than?

Serum 09.02.2005 05:27 PM

Yes, that would be a 1:1 fit..

toby 09.02.2005 05:33 PM

thank you, where can i find emachine? in a staples or in a computer special store?

Serum 09.02.2005 05:35 PM

this is the place where you can download the fun..

toby 09.02.2005 05:54 PM

thanks man, i am downloading it as we speak, the motoplate looks really small but i will see after if it fits

Serum 09.02.2005 05:55 PM

It will fit, it doesn't need to be large.. It mounts as low as possible..

toby 09.02.2005 06:06 PM

it looks smaller than the one on the screen i meant, it does not matter now though, i dowloaded emachine and i am gunna mess around with it a little bit tonight and figure out how to make 3D stuff. i am gunna cut out the paper and see how it fits in there and then bring it to a machine shop ASAP

Serum 09.02.2005 06:24 PM

The sizes are in mm, i don't know if a print is a one on 1 size.. (depends on quite some things)

toby 09.02.2005 06:28 PM

is that "L" shape some kind of profile or another piece?

Serum 09.02.2005 06:31 PM

it's an L profile

coolhandcountry 09.02.2005 06:46 PM

You my hero serum. Helping others in need. I want to be like you when i grow up.
Hey toby. YOu have to get some pics up as your project comes along.

toby 09.02.2005 06:53 PM

i agree with you man, he is an idle

Rcbros 09.02.2005 08:21 PM

serum u got pm

toby 09.02.2005 09:02 PM

i am going to get

7XL
9920 ESC
FLM- arms, towers
hardened threaded losi shock thingers

Serum 09.03.2005 02:55 AM

those Losi shocks are VERY sexy and sweet!!

You can allready see your stock towers bent from the losi shocks.. Perhaps it is an idea to get some aluminum shocktowers too

Thanks for all the kind words everyone!

toby 09.03.2005 08:52 AM

that is what i meant by "flm towers"

To Serum: Do i need to buy any upgraded drive line parts or bulks or anything while i wait for the motor and controller to be in? and what TVP are the strongest but not over kill heavy?

I have a stock servo also to answer the question way way back there. it is an hpi servo

Serum 09.03.2005 12:18 PM

I would upgrade the drivetrain when it brakes, or you need some BLING.. A smart thing to buy is an aluminum diff case (the housing that goes around the entire assembled diff) Only downside; Only GPM makes them.. BUT there is light! i contacted Jamie and suggested him to make a bulkless Savage conversion.. And guess what!? he is currently developing/making them..!!! (he is an a vacation at this time)

Mike has got nice Bluebird servo's.. nothing beats their price!

toby 09.03.2005 12:57 PM

is the bluebird a good one to use? bulkless system... sounds EXPENSIVE. i feel like spending 500 with motor and ESC to get it to run

coolhandcountry 09.03.2005 01:04 PM

Should be close to 300 for esc and motor. 199 esc and 90 for motor.

toby 09.03.2005 01:11 PM

so 200 dollars more

coolhandcountry 09.03.2005 01:35 PM

Yeah there you go. Spend it some where else. Some bling or strength. 200 should get you something. You still have toget it set up for the brushless.

toby 09.03.2005 02:35 PM

my dad is going to pay for the motor mount and battery trays. So that will not cost me anything, i need to design them though.

I am going to spend 200 on a servo and maybe some beefier driveline or some new rims and tires

mothman 09.03.2005 02:38 PM

hey toby, im working on the same project. Maybe we can help each other. By the way are you going to fabricate the motor mount that serum posted?

toby 09.03.2005 02:39 PM

yeah i beleive so, want me to get you a price on it? it will be about a week or two before i can bring it away.

mothman 09.03.2005 02:47 PM

that would be cool. But it would be great if you can use something thicker. I mean thicker aluminum. 6-8 mm maybe. Its good for heat dissipation and better to handle the torque of the motor too.

toby 09.03.2005 03:15 PM

I have 175 dollars left in my paypal account, maybe soon it will have 275, should i just save and wait for the motor and controller?

toby 09.03.2005 05:33 PM

I LIED, i have a hitech HS 615 steering servo

coolhandcountry 09.03.2005 05:45 PM

Don't be hard on yourself mate. You just told use what you didn't know. There fore you did not lie. You was miss informed. But having that sounds like a good thing. :)

toby 09.03.2005 05:56 PM

fegaio 7xl
warrior 9920
FLM everything they make

I want to beef up the driveline and everything so nothing breaks a all, i wannt just be able to dirve 3 times a week and repair at MOST once a month. i might throw in a 3 spped as well.

toby 09.03.2005 06:43 PM

Can someone suggest to me a way to beef up my driveline? Am i asking to much about not fixing it to often/

Serum 09.03.2005 06:51 PM

MIP cvd's and the other hint i gave you when you first asked this very same question..

toby 09.03.2005 07:12 PM

so these?
http://www.hobbyfever.com/product_in...d54784156c86bb

and?
http://cgi.ebay.com/HPI-Savage-21-25...QQcmdZViewItem

mothman 09.03.2005 07:15 PM
